Compare prices
Nestled in the Su Thep area of Chiang Mai, Villa Mahabhirom is a boutique resort built around a collection of authentic, heritage Thai houses that have been carefully restored and reimagined as private villa accommodations. Rather than a conventional hotel, the property functions as a living piece of Thai architectural history, where antiques, craftsmanship, and cultural character define every space. The resort also serves as a wedding and event venue, making it a popular choice for couples seeking an intimate, atmospheric setting. Guests can expect a serene, unhurried atmosphere with access to an outdoor pool, a spa, and an on-site restaurant. The villas combine traditional design with modern amenities, offering comfort without sacrificing authenticity. Repeat visitors and honeymooners frequently highlight the warmth and attentiveness of the staff as a defining part of the experience, alongside the property's strong sense of place and quiet seclusion from the city. As a small, boutique property, Villa Mahabhirom has limited rooms, and availability can fill quickly — particularly around popular travel periods or wedding season. Prospective guests are advised to book well in advance through the official website at villamahabhirom.com. The location in Tambon Su Thep places it within reasonable distance of Doi Suthep and the old city, making it a practical base for exploring the wider Chiang Mai region.

Visitor Reviews
We visited this hotel on our honeymoon and had an excellent stay. Great service, food, and amenities. The entire hotel was reconstructed using original Thai buildings and architecture and has been modernized and revitalized into a beautiful property! 5 stars
A Sanctuary of Soulful Luxury: Villa Mahabhirom is Beyond Comparison Villa Mahabhirom is not merely a hotel; it is an immersive experience, a living museum of exquisite taste and tranquility. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you are transported to a realm where aesthetic, tradition, and heritage are meticulously intertwined with absolute luxury. The collection of lovingly restored, century-old teak villas (ruean Thai), transplanted and reassembled from Central Thailand, provides a stunning backdrop, each structure a testament to the sophistication of classic Thai architecture. The interiors are a masterclass in design, seamlessly blending magnificent antiques and historical sculptures with chic, mid-century modern furnishings and opulent Italian marble bathrooms. This is luxury with a soul, a rare and beautiful homage to the past that feels utterly contemporary. The attention to detail, from the tasteful art and ornaments to the high-end touches, ensures every visual and tactile experience is nothing short of perfection. What truly elevates a stay here, however, is the exceedingly rare and exceptional service. In an industry that often confuses formality with quality, Villa Mahabhirom stands out. The service is warm, welcoming, and genuinely intuitive, delivered with the grace of true hospitality, yet completely devoid of pretense. It feels less like a hotel and more like being a highly cherished guest in a magnificent private homestead. The staff's readiness of service is remarkable—anticipating needs before they are voiced, but always with a considered, non-intrusive presence. The grounds themselves are a masterpiece. The pristine gardens are a verdant, tranquil botanical sanctuary, providing an atmosphere of profound calmness that is both restorative and enchanting. The pool acts as a serene focal point, inviting peaceful repose. Don't just stay here, move in!
This was our 2nd visit to Villa Mahabhirom; to us it is a truly special place. The traditional Thai house villas are full of heritage and character. You feel like you’re staying in a living piece of Thai history, with the comfort of a modern luxury hotel. The staff are one of the highlights; genuinely warm, attentive, and thoughtful in every interaction. They made us feel completely welcome from start to finish. The grounds and pool area are peaceful and immaculately kept, perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was excellent, and the overall atmosphere is calm, quiet, and intimate. A couple of small things to be aware of: the hotel is close to the airport, so you may hear planes during the day or evening but we are not sensitive to those things. Also, it’s not in the Old City, so you’ll need transport to get to most attractions but the staff will assist you with anywhere you need to go. Highly recommended if you’re in Chiang Mai and looking for a peaceful, elegant escape with a deep sense of Thai culture and hospitality. We will return, again.
