Ton Sai Beach
Ton Sai Beach serves as the primary arrival point for Koh Phi Phi Don, where ferries and speedboats dock against a backdrop of towering limestone cliffs. The beach is the commercial heart of the island, lined with shops, bars, dive centres, and rock climbing outfitters, making it the natural base for travellers who want easy access to the island's activities and nightlife. The dramatic cliff scenery gives it a striking visual character that sets it apart from more conventional beach settings. As a working harbour and island-hopping stopover, Ton Sai sees heavy boat traffic throughout the day, and the beach itself can get crowded, particularly around lunchtime when day-trip vessels pull in. The water along this stretch is not the island's clearest, and the atmosphere leans more lively and social than secluded and peaceful. Those seeking rock climbing, diving courses, or a central location for exploring the island will find it well-suited to their needs. Visitors planning to stay overnight will find a range of accommodation directly on or near the beachfront, which reviewers recommend booking in advance. The beach is accessible year-round, though cleanliness and crowd levels can vary by season, with off-peak periods generally offering a quieter experience. Travellers looking for calm, clear-water swimming may prefer to use Ton Sai as a base and venture to other beaches on the island during their stay.

Visitor Reviews
Beautiful beach but quite busy especially during lunch time because it is a lunch spot for those who take a phi phi island hopping. Here is the stop to eat. There are so many boats here. There are also a lot of shops available to buy foods, snacks or coffee. It's not that long but it's nice. There is also a chair service to rent here. Not sure if it is worth it or not..
Ton Sai beach forms the main gateway to the island- where ferries dock. This beach is lined with shops, bars, dive centres and climbing outfitters. Framed by towering limestone cliffs, it offers scenic view and water activities. It was a bit crowded when we visited during the month of August. But overall it was a good experience.
One of the most famous beaches in Koh Phi Phi. It's probably not the cleanest, but we visited not during the high season, so it might depend on that as well. There are some areas that are packed with people, but you can also find areas that are quieter if you're looking for some peace & to be far away from noisy tourists. Although the water weren't the cleanest, the beach itself is still beautiful and offers great views of the coastline, and I"d definitely recommend paying it a visit when you're in Koh Phi Phi.

Tips for Visiting Beaches & Islands
Check Monsoon Seasons
The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia
The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
