Phuket Water Ski Cable Way
Tucked into the Kathu district of Phuket, this cable wakeboarding park offers a structured alternative to open-water watersports, using an overhead cable system to pull riders across a dedicated lake rather than relying on a boat. The setup makes the sport accessible to first-timers while still offering enough obstacles and features to keep experienced riders engaged. The park runs a full-size 6.0 circuit with a separator island, and rental boards and boots are available on-site, with visitors noting the rental equipment is of good quality. The atmosphere leans relaxed and unhurried, with reviewers describing a chill vibe and a scenic backdrop. Beginners are encouraged to book the training cable session in advance, as it provides a gentler introduction before attempting the main circuit. Riders who own their own boards are welcome to bring them, which helps keep costs down since board rental carries an additional fee. Coming early in the morning is the best strategy on two counts: pricing is cheaper in the earlier hours, and the park sees fewer visitors, meaning more time on the water with less waiting. Residents in Thailand with a valid work permit may be eligible for a discounted rate, so it is worth bringing documentation if applicable. As opening hours and current pricing are not listed online, calling ahead or visiting in person to confirm session times and availability is advisable, particularly during peak tourist season when demand picks up.

Visitor Reviews
My boys loved this place for learning how to wakeboard because it has the training cable. We got a cheaper price because we are residents in Thailand with work permit. So take it with you if you are an expat living here. Our lovely teacher taught the boys how to stand up and balance etc. She was very patient and kind. They both made a lot of progress and are now interested to do more. Thank you! Oh and the food was pretty good too and I had a little swim in the pool whilst we were there watching our kids. There's a simple outdoor gym too. Wish we lived nearby - we'd be there all the time! Thank you also to Suzie, a customer (regular boarder) who was super kind and helpful with my son.
Good park! "+": + Obstacles are ok and I good conditions. + 6.0 big circle with a separator island in the middle. + Very good quality of rental decks / boots. + No crowds (weekday). "-": - The lake itself, overall infrastrucure in the area, surrounding, traffic and logistics won't impress you. Ps: you should not set your expectations too high. Don't expect here Hipnotics or 313 (these are from another planet), but this park is really good as for Phuket and probably no much better alternatives in January.
the wakepark where you want to ride everyday! absolutely marvelous background view, smooth figures and chill atmosphere... recommend to come in early morning hours - cheaper and less people !
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
