Phuket Wake Park
Phuket Wake Park is a cable-system wakeboarding facility located in the Kathu district, offering an alternative to boat-based watersports at a fraction of the cost. Rather than relying on a motorboat, riders are pulled by an overhead cable mechanism around a dedicated lake, with obstacle courses available for those looking to progress beyond the basics. The park attracts a range of visitors, from complete beginners taking their first run to serious athletes — some at a world-class level — who use the facility for dedicated training sessions. First-timers should be aware that the cable system handles differently from boat wakeboarding, so taking advantage of the beginner training session before moving to the main track is strongly recommended. Introductory packages that include training time on the smaller track followed by a session on the full course are available. Beginners are advised to ask staff upfront about exactly what their session includes — duration, track access, and safety guidance — to set clear expectations before getting on the water. The park is open seven days a week, with slightly later opening on Mondays (10:00) compared to the 09:00 start on all other days, and closes at 18:00 throughout the week. Arriving earlier in the day is a practical choice, particularly on weekends. The facility's website at phuketwakepark.com carries current pricing and session details.

Visitor Reviews
Recommend learning first as the turns on this mechanism is different but once I learnt it it was super smooth and fun, way cheaper than renting out a boat in the ocean and nice obstacles. If you fall in the middle a motorcycle will pick you up and drive you back very promptly. Nice coaches and cable operators, teaching you how to start.
Great park for more advanced riders I think. It was my first time trying wake board. 2500B I had 30min training at small track and 1h wake on big track. When you fall guy with motorcycle come to pick u up and take you to the start. Video is my first start at big track (I fall at first left turn 😄)
As a bystander this place is amazing, I've watched professionals practice for hours here!! Like world class athletes training here.. just a cool vibe and a fun sport.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
