Zong Raue Waterfall
Tucked into the forested interior of Koh Samui near the Ang Thong area, this jungle waterfall offers a quieter, nature-focused alternative to the island's busy beaches. The waterfall flows through dense tropical vegetation and, when conditions are right, provides a rewarding escape into the island's wilder landscape. It attracts visitors looking to trade sand and sun for shade, birdsong, and the sound of moving water. The experience is genuinely natural and undeveloped, which means visitors should come prepared for the terrain rather than a polished attraction. Reaching the falls involves navigating a steep, unmarked trail where tree roots and branches serve as handholds — sturdy footwear is strongly advised over sandals or flip-flops. Reviews note that the upper level of the waterfall is worth the extra effort, as stopping at the first, smaller cascade undersells the site. Water volume varies considerably by season, and the falls can appear modest during drier months such as March. Good to know: The waterfall is best visited during or shortly after the wet season (May to October) when flow is at its strongest. There is no formal path, no listed opening hours, and no official website, so visiting during daylight hours with a charged phone and GPS is recommended. Ask at your hotel for current trail and water conditions before heading out, and bring water and snacks as there are no on-site facilities.

Visitor Reviews
Worth every penny, recommend buying the gold ticket you do every zip line and every other activity here. First&pew instructors were very funny also made sure every single activity we did was safety first which was brilliant.
It was a great experience. The views were very nice and the zip lines were awesome. They gave us free food and drinks. The experience lastes for 2 hours. The instructors, Nu and Ben were very friendly and made the experience a lot better. We had so much fun with them. 100% worth the price. Totally recomend to come.
Nice waterfall but difficult to walk to and back from. There's no purpose made path so you have to climb and descend the steep natural landscape holding on to the many hanging tree branches/roots. It's not much but can be difficult especially for old or young people. The good thing is for this reason its not busy at all so you'll likely have the falls to yourself to enjoy a little.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
