The Food School Bangkok
Tucked inside the modern BLOCK 28 complex in the Samyan-Pathumwan area, The Food School Bangkok operates as both a culinary education institution and a welcoming café space open to the general public. The school runs hands-on workshops covering a range of disciplines — from sourdough bread-making to broader culinary techniques — with instructors known for being approachable and thorough. Classes are designed to accommodate participants at various skill levels, making it accessible whether someone is a casual food enthusiast or a more serious home cook. The ground floor café serves as a test kitchen showcase, offering affordable dishes, seasonal desserts, freshly baked pastries, and well-regarded coffee. Visitors have highlighted the croissants, cranberry scones, and specialty lattes as standout items. The space itself is architecturally distinctive, featuring modern design with quality materials that create an appealing environment for both students and casual drop-ins. For those interested in workshops, it is worth reaching out in advance to confirm current class schedules, availability, and pricing, as specific session details are not always listed publicly. Walk-in visitors are welcome to enjoy the café without enrolling in a course, making it a worthwhile stop for travellers in the Samyan neighbourhood looking for quality coffee and baked goods in an interesting setting.

Visitor Reviews
I took the short sourdough workshop (2 days). Cyril was super nice and explained everything and Al’s was asked if have questions to make sure we understand . I finish with a lots of new knowledge, and this is was my purpose to come . And the bread we made was sooooo good, I was very happy with the results. They also have a nice coffee and restaurant. Only one thing . They give us option to eat lunch at their restaurant. As a vegetarian/ vegan I didn’t have any option so had to go eat outside . Would be great if they will have any option .

Stumbled across The Food School by chance, and were very grateful for being offered a small tour by one of the very friendly staff. Very modern architectural space, with great use of materials..gorgeous pastries made on site, and excellent local coffee beans. The staff are excellent, and we were fortunate enough to have a brief chat to the director of the school. Definitely worth a visit!
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
