โพธิธรรมญาณสถาน ภูเก็ต | Bodhidhammayan Retreat Phuket
Nestled in a calm, nature-surrounded setting in the Thalang district of Phuket, Bodhidhammayan Retreat is a dedicated meditation and mindfulness centre rooted in Buddhist practice. It draws both local visitors and international travellers seeking a genuine, structured introduction to meditation rather than a purely commercial wellness experience. The teaching staff are consistently described by visitors as gentle, kind, and attentive, creating an environment that feels welcoming rather than intimidating. The centre offers one-day meditation retreats that combine sitting practice with teachings, making it accessible to complete beginners while remaining meaningful for those with existing experience. Sessions are structured across the day, giving participants a full immersive experience rather than a brief class. The surroundings are quiet and conducive to reflection, and the centre accommodates visitors with physical limitations, including those who find traditional floor-based sitting difficult. On a practical note, prospective visitors should be aware that the centre has no listed website, so reaching out through available contact channels in advance is advisable to confirm scheduling, programme availability, and any language of instruction. A minor note from one visitor flags occasional logistical hiccups with retreat materials and English-language content, so it is worth confirming these details before booking. Modest, comfortable clothing is recommended, and those attending longer sessions may wish to bring any props that support their sitting practice.

Visitor Reviews
I recommend it with all my heart. Such a wonderful place to begin a journey into mindfulness meditation. It’s perfect for beginners cause you have not only meditation for 8 hours in a row, but you also take part in activities like drawing and walking meditation. The volunteers are so kind, offering information and guidance with care and attention. I truly believe our world would become kinder and happier if more people try a practice like this. Thank you!
I had a wonderful experience during the 1-day meditation retreat. The staff were incredibly accommodating and mindful of my needs, especially since I have knee issues that make it difficult to sit cross-legged for long periods. They kindly provided a chair, which made the practice much more comfortable. I left feeling refreshed and deeply grateful. I would definitely return and highly recommend this meditation center to others.
A nice place with kind and attentive people. I’ve been there several times for Sunday meditation and place is very accommodative and peaceful. The only thing I would recommend to have one more vegetarian option for food, like vegetables or salad, because it’s difficult for vegetarians when there is no food except rice to eat at lunch. Thank you very much for your efforts, I really appreciate it and planning to come back!
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
