Banyan Tree Krabi

4.8(1,034 reviews)

Set against Krabi's karst landscape in the quiet Nongtalay area, this luxury resort positions itself firmly around wellness, offering traditional Thai massage, spa therapies, and broader rejuvenation programs delivered by trained staff across therapeutic disciplines. The property draws guests seeking a calm alternative to Krabi's busier coastal centres while remaining within reach of the region's coastline and scenery. What consistently distinguishes the resort, across a wide range of visitor accounts, is the quality of its people. Guests with experience at international luxury properties have singled out the staff as standing apart even by high standards — attentive, warm, and genuinely hospitable in ways that repeatedly elevate an already well-appointed stay. The atmosphere leans toward quiet luxury, making it particularly well-suited to couples, solo travellers, and anyone prioritising rest and space over activity. Good to know: Krabi's dry season runs from November to February, when conditions are most favourable and demand for premium resorts peaks accordingly — booking well in advance is strongly advisable for travel during this window. The tropical climate calls for lightweight clothing year-round. Given the calibre of the facilities and the nature of wellness-focused stays, guests are best served by planning a minimum of several nights to make full use of what the property offers.

Visitor Reviews

Banyan Tree Krabi is a true five-star resort, and easily one of the best hotel experiences I have had. From the start, the staff stood out as the friendliest and most accommodating I have encountered anywhere. Service was consistently thoughtful, proactive, and made the stay feel effortless. The rooms are beautifully designed, each with a private pool that adds a real sense of privacy. The showers and bathrooms are excellent, and the overall layout feels both comfortable and refined. The food across the resort was very strong, with several memorable meals. One highlight was the restaurant reached by cable car, which is a fun experience and offers incredible views. The New Year’s Eve celebration was particularly well done, with a great atmosphere and a fireworks countdown that made the night feel special. Banyan Tree Krabi delivers an exceptional balance of service, setting, and experience, and is a place I would return to without hesitation.

Banyan tree krabi will be a place that I will miss and be back to someday. I have been to multiple resorts and luxury hotels, but banyan tree krabi stands out truly in terms of hospitality. The views from this resort are mesmerizing and what really made me happy was that i didn't face any hassle at all from check-in upto the checkout. As soon as I entered the property I was mesmerized by the lobby area setup and the warm welcome. I checked into the partial ocean view room and the overall stay was flawless and the hospitality service was remarkable. I still remember the names of the people who truly understood what hospitality is all about. We had wonderful interactions with Phoon, summer and prae who were fantastic at what they did. These guys did make my stay wonderful and i would definitely visit again hoping to get the same experience.

What a wonderful place!! There is really nothing we can think of to complain about. This resort is beautiful and the staff is exceptionally attentive and helpful. We particularly enjoyed Jayda and Toey who helped make us feel comfortable and happy during our stay. There is a national park within walking distance of the resort that offers challenging hikes with spectacular views. Some onsite restaurant reservations were hard to get so it is best to do it ahead of time or as soon as possible. The Naga dining room is always available without a reservation and is very nice. Our room had its own pool and outside queen size lounge bed with umbrella. We could watch the beautiful sunsets from there or from the nice beach area below. We would return here without hesitation if back in Thailand.

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
