Kornthip Thai Massage
Tucked into the Rop Wiang area of Chiang Rai, Kornthip Thai Massage has built a loyal following among travellers seeking something beyond the generic tourist spa experience. The studio is run by sisters who bring a notably thorough approach to their work — assessing the body, identifying problem areas, and tailoring each session accordingly rather than following a fixed routine. Visitors consistently highlight the therapists' ability to locate and release deep muscle tension, and some return multiple days in a row during their stay in the city. The menu includes traditional Thai massage, oil massage, neck and shoulder work, and foot reflexology. Sessions begin with a foot wash and scrub, and the environment is described by visitors as clean and well-kept. The approach leans therapeutic rather than purely relaxing, so those with tight or sore muscles may find sessions intense — though the results the following day are frequently praised. As a small, owner-operated studio, availability may be limited during busy periods, so calling ahead or visiting early in the day is advisable. No website is currently listed, meaning walk-ins appear to be the primary way to book. Given the personal and hands-on nature of the service, those with specific injuries or areas of concern should communicate this clearly at the start of their session.

Visitor Reviews
I had a 1.5 hours of foot Reflexology at Kornthip Thai Massage and highly recommend giving this place a try. The environment is clean and orderly. We got our feet washed and scrubbed with a beautiful orange color granulated soap before the session, which was fun. It was refreshing to have a comfortable bed to lie on rather than sitting up in a recliner during my massage. My masseuse/owner of the business was very relatable, sweet and devoted to her work. I loved all her techniques used! Not only were they detailed and effective, but she also demonstrated a wide variety of different strokes and pressure points, and all done by hand without the use of any wooden tools. During my session, she was able to make me feel as if I was going on this amazing adventure of sensory experiences with my feet. It was truly therapeutic and enjoyable. Their prices are also very fair. Regrettably, our time in Chiang Rai ran out so I will have to bookmark this for future visits if I am ever in this area again.
Received one of the best massages ever, by Ying(owner?). Not your typical massage where the masseuse just goes through the same procedure; back, front, head scratch, back chop, and done, instead she felt even inch of my body searching for knots in the muscle and/or areas of tension, and meticulously worked the area to relieve. Once done, I felt like I was treated by an expert with decades of experience or even someone with a medical degree. Highly recommend Ying, you'll definitely noticed the difference in quality.
Best massage we had in Thailand. Owners are sisters, both knows anatomy and bodies very well. There is no nerve / muscle they will not see. Full body inspection, giving exercise advices etc... We did body scrum + oil massage, be warned that it won't be a pleasure party at first, but hell god : they healed us, more than anything before. You need to book with these two magic sisters 😍 Thank you so much. ❤️
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
