Lotus Wellness

4.8(104 reviews)

Tucked inside a quiet residential compound in Bangkok's Sathon district, this wellness centre stands apart from the city's more commercial spa offerings. Founded by Melanie, who leads the water therapy and gong sessions personally, Lotus Wellness draws visitors seeking genuine therapeutic experiences rather than tourist-oriented treatments. The setting feels remarkably removed from Bangkok's intensity, with guests frequently noting how surprising it is to find such tranquillity within the city. Specialities include water therapy, private and group gong sessions, sound baths, and yoga classes. The centre also hosts visiting international practitioners — past events have featured master sound healers running intensive courses — giving it a depth of programming uncommon for a boutique wellness space. The atmosphere is described by visitors as peaceful and non-commercial, with a strong sense of intention behind each offering. Treatments cater to both one-time visitors looking for a restorative experience and those seeking ongoing wellness practices during an extended stay in Bangkok. Good to know: Lotus Wellness operates from a residential address inside Pitak Court off Soi Atthakan Prasit, so first-time visitors should allow extra time to locate the entrance. As opening hours and pricing are not listed publicly, contacting the centre directly before visiting is strongly advised. Private sessions and courses with visiting practitioners are likely to book out in advance, so early enquiry is recommended for anyone with a specific treatment or event in mind.

I had the pleasure of taking a gong course at Lotus Wellbeing and was blown away with the level of content and expertise offered. Lotus Wellbeing hosted gong master, Martha Collard, the owner of The Red Door studio in Hong Kong. For me being a Thailand resident it was more convenient to take the course in Bangkok versus traveling to HK. Melanie, the owner of Lotus Wellbeing is such a beam of sunshine! She had everything and more that we needed to have a successful week with over twenty five gongs present for us to use. Her gorgeous studio is a hidden peaceful gem in the center of Bangkok with a retreat vibe. I have been a practitioner of sound for five years now and I am always looking for ways to keep refining my offerings and deepening my own practice. I previously completed an intro level gong course and was ready to go deeper into the world of all things gong. Martha has trained and worked with original gong masters and makers and has a HUGE wealth of knowledge and experience spanning over a multiple decades. Martha is an amazing trainer with the ability to articulate details, science, technique and more. She makes the content approachable and teaches us how to apply what we're learning right into real life situations based on our individual needs. I still have lots of reading content post course to dive into that she provided and now I have a curiosity to learn more about Kundalini yoga as well. The hands on practice and receiving we experienced all week left me feeling a renewed sense of lightness, inspiration and hope. Thank you Melanie for collaborating with skilled masters from around the globe and bringing such unique opportunities to us in heart of Bangkok! I only wished I lived closer so I could be a regular client of this special community you created, xx

My Private Gong Sessions Last week, I spent my block leave immersed in private Gong sessions with Melanie — and honestly, “fun” doesn’t even come close to describing it. It was pure joy, deep bliss, and a week full of learning and inspiration. Someone once told me, “You don’t need to learn the Gong — just sit in front of it and play.” But now I truly understand how much there is to learn: the Gong’s background, rhythms, sequences, techniques, care — and the subtle art of listening. The whole program gave me all of that and more. After the training, my Gong playing feels so much more fluid, grounded, and peaceful. I absolutely love when my Grotta Sonora starts to “speak” with Venus, creating waves of sound that pull me into deep meditation and serenity. A heartfelt thank-you to Melanie and her amazing team for making my week so rich, inspiring, and unforgettable. I was so full of joy that I couldn’t stop — I even continued with a Crystal Bowl class right after! ✨ Feeling grateful, blissful, and deeply connected to the sound.

You’ll have the best wellness treatments at Lotus Wellness , every time I get a sound bath, a yoga class or a water therapy I feel like I’ve gifted myself something truly nourishing. The space is peaceful, the teachers are caring, and every visit leaves me calmer, lighter, and more grounded. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to reset, heal, and reconnect with themselves. Melanie created a safe haven where you instantly feel welcomed, supported, and deeply cared for. The atmosphere is peaceful, the sessions are thoughtfully guided, and I always leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected. Truly a place for healing and renewal. Thank you 🙏🏻

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
