Punnawithi BTS Station

4.3(130 reviews)

Punnawithi BTS Station is a Sukhumvit Line stop (station code E11) located on Sukhumvit Road at Soi 101 in the Phra Khanong district of Bangkok. The station serves as a practical transit point for the surrounding area, which includes several residential condominiums, service apartments, and the notable True Digital Park tech campus and Cloud11 office and retail complex, both accessible via a covered skywalk from the southern exit. The station follows the standard BTS layout, with small food and drink vendors operating at both exits — drink shops on the northern side and a convenience store stand to the south. The skywalk connection makes it a useful stop for those visiting True Digital Park or the True101 Shopping Center, which contains a food court with various dining options, though visitors should be aware that some vendors there operate on a cashless basis only. Lifts are available on both sides of the station for passengers with mobility needs, though a skywalk staircase leading toward True Digital Park via exit 6 has a stairlift that has been reported as out of service. Travellers relying on step-free access should confirm the current status of this facility before travelling. The station operates as part of the broader BTS network and can be used with a Rabbit Card for convenient, cashless travel across Bangkok.

Tips for Visiting Transportation

Take the Sleeper Train at Least Once

The Bangkok-to-Chiang Mai overnight train in a second-class sleeper berth is a bucket-list experience. Book at least a week ahead via 12Go.asia or at Hua Lamphong station. Upper berths are cheaper and have more headroom; lower berths have a window.

Use Grab Everywhere

Grab is the Uber of Southeast Asia and works across Thailand for cars, motorbike taxis, and even tuk-tuks in some cities. It eliminates haggling and provides fare estimates upfront. Load a Thai SIM or use eSIM to stay connected.

Rent Scooters Carefully

Always photograph the scooter's existing damage before riding off, and keep your passport — give a photocopy instead (some shops insist on the original; avoid these). Wear a helmet; police fine 500 THB for no helmet and accidents without one void insurance.
