Pailin House
Tucked away from the bustle of central Pai, Pailin House is a small guesthouse offering rustic bungalows set within a large, well-kept garden with a river running along the back boundary. The property strikes a balance that many travellers find hard to come by in Pai's town centre: convenient enough to walk to restaurants and the nearby lake within minutes, yet calm and private enough to feel genuinely removed from the crowds. Rooms and bungalows are simple in style, with some showing their age, but guests consistently highlight their cleanliness and comfort. Verandas and sunny balconies look out over the garden and mountains, making them a natural spot to slow down and take in the surroundings. The garden backs onto a field where fireflies appear after dark, a quiet highlight worth seeking out on a clear evening. The owner is frequently mentioned by visitors as warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. As a practical note, this property does not appear to have an official website, so booking through a third-party platform or contacting the property directly is advisable. Given the small scale of the guesthouse, availability can be limited during Pai's busy season between November and February, so planning ahead is recommended for those travelling during peak months.

Visitor Reviews
very lovely place. The bungalows are very nice builded and clean. Well located. You are in the city, close to everything and in the same time its very calm because you are not in the middle of the cake. Sometimes you heard the music of a different hostel but it didn't disturb me. You have the view to the garden and in one minute you are at the river. Very nice to take a walk in the morning next to the river. I stayed two weeks, they came every couple of days to clean my room and changed the bed sheets. Everyday I got a fresh towel, water and coffee. The family hosting the place is very lovely and warm hearted. I felt from the first second always very welcome, comfortable and home. I can definitely recommend the place and would come back ❤️ thank you for hosting me
Rustic chalets overlooking a big garden and river at the bottom. Nice to sit on the veranda and watch the wildlife. The lady that runs the place is really lovely and will do her best to help. Not far from walking st night market
Nice bungalow for a good price. Nice quiet area, just a 5 minute walk from most of the food places. Make sure to head to the field out back to see the fireflies at night
Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
