YaYee Rooftop
Tucked away on a quiet soi off Siriman Khajarn Road in the Suthep area of Chiang Mai, YaYee Rooftop is a casual bar and dining spot that earns its reputation through a combination of solid cocktails, mountain views, and an unhurried atmosphere that keeps visitors coming back. Its elevated position makes it a natural draw for sunset watching, with views toward the surrounding hills providing a backdrop that several visitors have singled out as a highlight of their visit. The drinks menu leans into cocktails, with prices reported by visitors at around 260 baht — competitive by Chiang Mai rooftop standards. Food is available alongside drinks, with chicken wings and pizza drawing particular praise. The vibe here is distinctly relaxed and sociable, attracting solo travellers, groups of friends, and those looking for a comfortable spot to wind down after a day of sightseeing or cycling. It suits both a casual afternoon session and an evening drink equally well. As a practical note, YaYee Rooftop does not currently have a website listed, so confirming opening hours in advance through a map search or direct contact is advisable before making the trip. Sunset is a popular time to visit, so arriving a little early is worth considering if you want a good seat with an unobstructed view of the mountains.

Visitor Reviews
So my friend and I actually came from another rooftop (Arise) because the vibe was off over there. We came here instead and ended up being a much better ambiance. The view of the mountain with the sun behind during sunset gives a nice glow. We haven't ordered any food yet, but they have a nice happy hour on drinks from 5-7pm (BOGO). Def recommend this spot!
Love it here.. one of my fave chill places to work or have a cocktail in the area. Surprised it doesn’t have more Google reviews! It’s a great spot for the sunset, a casual drink, with friends or solo. Staff are friendly and just leave you to it. Been back here at least three times
We went there 2 nights during our bike trip there. The bar was so cool and the drinks were well served, prices were reasonable. You can see how many cocktails we ordered between two of us 😂 Recommend for nice rooftop bar around Nimman area 👍
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
