Madame Lee Fun Dining
Tucked along Thanon Arak in Chiang Mai's Prasing neighbourhood, Madame Lee Fun Dining has earned a devoted following for its elevated take on Thai and Asian cuisine, paired with creative cocktails in an atmosphere that feels genuinely special. Repeat visits are common, with diners returning specifically for the signature cocktails and the quality of cooking — a combination that sets it apart from the many restaurants clustered around the old city. The experience here leans toward fine dining without being stiff. The owner and staff are consistently praised for their warmth and personal attention, contributing to an atmosphere that suits both casual evenings and memorable occasions. The menu draws from Thai, Chinese, and Malaysian influences, and the cocktail programme is treated with the same seriousness as the food. The venue has also hosted intimate events such as marriage proposals, reflecting the flexibility and care the team brings to each visit. Good to know: Madame Lee opens daily at noon and stays open until midnight, making it a strong option for late dinners after a day of sightseeing. The central location near the old city's temples and markets means it pairs easily with an evening walk through the neighbourhood. For special occasions or during peak tourist season, reaching out via the website in advance is a sensible precaution. The venue is accessible on foot from most old city guesthouses and hotels, and by tuk-tuk from further afield.

Visitor Reviews
*A hidden gem worthy of a Michelin Star!* Where do I even begin? The first time we came here, we were in a rush and just wanted a quick bite. We were served immediately, and the food arrived in no time. Even taking the leftovers with us was no problem at all — everything was handled with ease and a smile. The second time we tried the honey prawns and the pork with pineapple in sweet and sour sauce — honestly, some of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted in my life. The cocktails are crafted with just as much care and attention to detail. The interior is elegant yet calming, making it the perfect setting for a romantic dinner. The manager is genuinely kind, and he takes real pride in explaining the dishes and cocktails — something that makes the whole experience even more memorable. Prices are on the higher end for Thailand, but for a European they feel very reasonable — and given the quality, it’s an absolute bargain. We’ve already been here twice, and we’ll definitely be coming back. A truly unforgettable dining experience!
Such a great place! He is very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I came here with my girlfriend, and we had a really fun time drinking and eating together. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. Definitely a place we’d love to visit again. Highly recommended!
The owner is amazing. He is very friendly. I just met him in one of his dispensaries and we talked a bit. But him and his wife prepared everything for my proposal. The food is super awesome and a good value for the money. Their Mango Sticky Rice cocktail is a must-try! Plus the chicken pad thai!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
