Food Market
Tucked into the Chang Khlan sub-district of Chiang Mai, this open-style food court brings together a handful of vendors under one roof, offering an accessible and affordable way to eat like a local. The variety on offer is impressive for its size, spanning dry and soup noodles, stir-fried dishes served with rice, deep-fried meats, and seafood options — including a seafood suki with a broth that keeps regulars coming back visit after visit. Meals are reported to cost as little as 45 baht, with portions described as generous and service consistently fast and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, drawing a mix of locals and travellers looking for an honest, no-frills meal. Standout dishes noted by visitors include ka prao moo krop (basil crispy pork) and fried rice with pork, both praised for flavour and freshness. The space is open-air, which keeps things lively but means there is no air conditioning or fan cooling — something to keep in mind on hotter days. The market is open seven days a week from 10:00 to 17:00, making it a reliable choice for a late breakfast or lunch. Arriving earlier in the day is advisable to secure a seat and catch vendors at their freshest. Cash is recommended, as small food courts in Thailand rarely accept cards.

Visitor Reviews
Small food court with multiple vendors. Had a ka prao moo krop (basil crispy pork) and it was very tasty! Will go again. Fast and friendly service, very good price. Place has no fans or ac so it gets very hot in the day time.
[cheap and delicious gem] This open style Thai food court has a handful of vendors and a ton of variety to choose from. Dry/soup noodles, stir fry dishes with a side of rice, deep fried meats and drinks. With meals averaging around 45 THB it's hard to beat! Staff might speak minimal English but they won't rip you off. Must visit!
Probably the best place to eat local food in the whole of Chiang Mai! The food is delicious, portions are good sizes and it’s only 45B per meal - non-farang price. Get yourself here to eat like a king!

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
