Hug Thai (centralwOrld)
Housed within the CentralWorld shopping complex on Rama I Road in Pathum Wan, Hug Thai is a dedicated Thai food court zone bringing together a wide range of regional dishes under one roof. Rather than a single menu, the space operates through multiple stalls and small eateries, allowing visitors to mix and match across noodle dishes, rice plates, cooked mains, and more. Pad Thai is a popular order, and the traditional Thai coffee made with condensed milk draws consistent praise from visitors. The atmosphere is casual and communal, with picnic-style seating that gives the space an open, market-like feel. It tends to get busy, particularly on weekends during lunch and early evening, though tables turn over quickly and seating generally remains available. Staff keep the space tidy and move efficiently, which helps the flow even during peak periods. The combination of variety, affordable pricing, and relaxed surroundings makes it a practical stop for both first-time Bangkok visitors and returning travellers. Good to know: Hug Thai is open every day from 10am to 10pm, aligning with CentralWorld's shopping hours and making it easy to combine with time spent exploring the Pathum Wan area. Arriving before noon or after 2pm on weekdays helps avoid the busiest periods. Payment is handled at individual stalls, so it is worth checking whether each vendor accepts cards before ordering, as some may prefer cash.

Visitor Reviews
Great place. Wonderful picnic style seating areas and great food and drink. The coffee stall offers a great traditional Thai coffee made with condensed milk, absolutely great way to relax. Architecturally very pleasing use of metal for upper areas paired with warm woods for the structure and then very well dressed shops that make for an elegant feeling. Well worth the visit and nearby the farmers market which is also excellent.
Atmosphere is so convincing. There are many affordable Thai food, both on food center and little restaurants in Hug Thai zone.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
