Silom Square Food Center
A lively open-air food court tucked along Silom Road in the Bang Rak district, Silom Square Food Center draws a steady stream of office workers and neighbourhood regulars with its affordable, no-frills Thai cooking. Multiple vendors set up each day, offering a rotating spread that typically includes Hainanese chicken rice, pork fried rice, fresh coconut juice, noodle dishes, and other Bangkok staples. The variety of vendors can shift day to day, meaning repeat visits often turn up different options. The atmosphere is unpretentious and communal, with shared tables, quick service, and the kind of straightforward energy that reflects how many Bangkokians eat during the working week. Ordering is manageable for non-Thai speakers, as many stalls display pictures alongside their menus, making it easy to point at something that looks appealing. On some weekdays, additional market stalls appear alongside the food vendors, adding to the general bustle. The food court sits within easy walking distance of Silom BTS Skytrain station, making it a convenient stop when exploring the surrounding neighbourhood. Good to know: Silom Square Food Center operates on weekdays only, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, so it suits breakfast or lunch but is not an option for evenings or weekends. It gets notably crowded before work and around midday, while arriving in the early afternoon generally means a quieter experience with most stalls still open and serving.

Visitor Reviews
In love with this market! We came here 2 consecutive days during our trip as it was a short walking distance from the hotel. The food selection here is so awesome. Pop up stalls were different vendors on both days and there's so much snack and street food. On the sides are permanent vendors selling hearty meals. On the other side of the food court were vendors selling clothes and other household items. Worth checking it out if you're nearby.
Great food at a great price. Some stalls have English translations but lots have pictures so it’s no problem to point at a dish that catches your eye. We arrived just after 2pm, most stalls were still open although it was closing up as we left.
Very nice and tidy, also cheap price in bangkok Thailand Must try hainanese chicken, pig fried rice and coconut juice

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
