ร้านขจร | Kajohn Authentic Southern Thai Cuisine
Tucked into the Pom Prap Sattru Phai district, this small Bangkok restaurant specialises in the fiery, complex cooking of Thailand's southern provinces — a style that remains genuinely difficult to find elsewhere in the city at this level of regional authenticity. The kitchen leans into the intense heat and layered spicing characteristic of southern Thai cuisine, with dishes like stewed pork ribs drawing consistent praise from visitors. Reviewers note that despite the bold flavour profile, the cooking remains accessible to those less familiar with the cuisine, making it a reasonable choice for international travellers as well as seasoned Thai food enthusiasts. The dining room is described by visitors as attractively decorated, and staff are noted as friendly and English-speaking. The focus is firmly on the food, and the kitchen's consistency has built a loyal following among both locals and those seeking something beyond standard Bangkok restaurant fare. Good to know: Kajohn opens exclusively for dinner, operating from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily with no weekly closing day. The restaurant draws steady crowds, so arriving near opening time is advisable. One reviewer has noted that the venue offers a complimentary drink in exchange for posting a review online, which is worth keeping in mind when reading through the feedback. Current menu details and updates are shared on the restaurant's Instagram account.

Visitor Reviews
I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, rich and bold flavors with that authentic Southern Thai touch. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, packed with spices, and so flavorful that I found myself wanting more with each bite. The atmosphere was calm and cozy, making it a great spot to have a quiet conversation without too much background noise. It’s a place where you can actually enjoy both the food and the place. Prices are on the higher side, but I feel it’s worth it given the quality of the ingredients, the authenticity of the flavors, and the overall dining style. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic, tasty Southern Thai food in a comfortable setting.
My friend and I came to try Southern Thai food here and absolutely loved all the dishes we had. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, staff are very friendly and spoke English. As for the food… The Crab and Bettel leaf curry was so delicious I wanted to lick the bowl. The crab was so soft and it was the perfect amount. The fried egg squid and chili garlic sauce was so tasty - recommend eating whilst it’s warm. The shredded morning glory was light and tasty - never had shredded mornings g glory and was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bangkok who was a quiet, ambient authentic Thai food experience.
Authentic southern Thai food but the taste is very friendly for foreigners. Portion is just like. Really recommend if you travel to Bangkok, swing by and taste it

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
