JJ Mall Food Court
Situated on the second floor of JJ Mall in the Chatuchak district, this food court draws in both shoppers and neighbourhood locals with its range of Thai food stalls under one air-conditioned roof. The cooling system is frequently noted by visitors as a genuine highlight, offering welcome relief from Bangkok's heat after a morning at the adjacent Chatuchak Weekend Market. Stalls cover familiar Thai staples, and one standout is the mango sticky rice, which has earned particular praise from repeat visitors for its quality and sweetness. The atmosphere is casual and communal, with the coupon-based payment system used across most stalls — a common format in Bangkok food courts where tokens are purchased upfront and used across different vendors. It is worth noting that unused coupons are non-refundable, so buying in small amounts to start is the practical approach. Food quality and pricing are generally consistent with a typical Bangkok food court: affordable and straightforward rather than exceptional. JJ Mall is open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays and until 8:00 PM on weekends, making it a reliable lunch or early dinner stop. The food court is most conveniently visited as part of a broader trip to the Chatuchak area, particularly on weekends when the famous weekend market is in full swing nearby. Arriving mid-afternoon tends to mean shorter queues at busy stalls.

Visitor Reviews
The best mango sticky rice that I've come across in Thailand has been at a stall at JJ Mall Food court. Hands down this is the sweetest mango ever!! I have returned for this dish whenever I visit Bangkok.
Very cheap food court, clean also, the mall location just opposite the Chatuchak Weekend Market… The puppet live music in the entrance was very entertaining for the guest…
So many shops!! There is everything here. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was due to one shop experience. However, there are many shops here with oils, furniture, clothes.. just everything.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
