River prawn
Situated along the banks of the river in Ayutthaya, this restaurant draws visitors with its focus on river prawns — a regional speciality — and its position slightly removed from the busier tourist strips. The riverside setting offers views across the water, including a church on the opposite bank, and the outdoor atmosphere gives it a more relaxed feel than the high-traffic eateries closer to the main ruins. Parking is available on site, making it accessible for those with a vehicle or arriving by tuk-tuk. Visitors can expect a casual open-air dining experience with river views as the main draw. The menu centres on fresh river prawns, which reviewers note are notably large in size. Other dishes such as pad thai, glass noodle dishes, and curry are also available. Pricing tends to run higher than budget options in the area, which some visitors attribute to the riverside location and tourist town setting. It is worth approaching with measured expectations. Reviews are mixed, with some praising the setting and prawn quality while others have raised concerns about value for money, dish seasoning, and service consistency. The sign outside is small and easy to miss, so look carefully when approaching along Thanon Uthong. As opening hours are not publicly listed, it is advisable to check locally or allow flexibility in your plans before making a special trip.

Visitor Reviews
This restaurant is a little bit further down the road but they serve the same insane sized river prawns but no tour bus tourists around. Great views of the river, the church across and a beautiful colored free view of the sun going down 🌄 I'm not a fan of river prawns unlike my company who loved the large ones, so I had beef with oyster sauce. To my taste adding a whole grilled union wouldn't be needed. I like my greens better. The seating is plenty but not the most comfortable, yet the view and ambience and pricing makes up for that.
Directly on the river with plenty of parking. The sign is small so dont miss it lol. Yes the prices are a bit high but all things considered (on the river and high tourist town) i think its a good restaurant with fair prices. I enjoyed dinner with friends and we all thought the food was good. I will say i ordered the spicy seafood soup and it had zero spice. Yes im a farang but i love spice so i was disappointed and there was no chili sauce on the table.
We ate there by recomendation from the tuc-tuc driver. We knew that it was really risky but we didn't have other options. We asked small pad thai, 1/2kg river prawns and small spicy chicken curry. No of the dishes were ok. The prawns were not freshes and rest of dishes not well cooked. The price for that and 2 big chang bier was 1490 baths. They had a tpv to pay with crédit card but they said it was broken. Really I recommend not to eat here. It's really a pitty, you go out in hollidays very far from your country, once that we go there and we get this experience...
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
