Sala coffee Ayutthaya
Part of the Sala Hospitality group, this café and restaurant sits alongside a river in the Pratuchai area of Ayutthaya, offering a notable contrast to the ancient temples and ruins that define the surrounding landscape. The riverside setting is its strongest draw, with edge tables providing open views across the water that reviewers consistently highlight as the main reason to visit. The menu spans coffee, beverages, desserts, and a broader food selection including dishes such as river prawns and satay. Drinks and desserts receive the more positive feedback from visitors, while food quality and pricing draw more mixed responses — several reviewers flag that the food does not always match the cost, with one noting a seafood platter at 2,000 baht fell short of expectations. The atmosphere suits couples or those looking for a relaxed spot away from the busier central tourist areas, though the open setting can feel warm on still days without a breeze. For the best experience, securing a reservation for a riverside edge table is strongly recommended, as these seats deliver the views the venue is known for. Checking current opening hours via the official website at salahospitality.com/ayutthaya before visiting is advisable, as hours are not publicly listed. Visitors arriving by tuk-tuk or songthaew should share the full address with their driver, as the location sits in a quieter residential pocket rather than the main heritage zone.

Visitor Reviews
I highly recommend that you make a reservation for a table at the edge with the best view. The service was great, very nice and friendly. The food was excellent. We really enjoyed the river prawns. They were cooked perfectly juicy. The ribs, pad Thai, laarb and green curry were also excellent.
Good place for couple dating , food was ok but price is high with good scenery view. Quite hot if no wind.
Planned a visit here for a drinks and breathtaking landscape! There’re plenty of foods, beverages, and desserts. We tried a number of drinks, which are not bad, and desserts that deserve a shout out. Despite their well-designed architecture and view, the pricing for all the menu items is set so high above the bar.
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
