Baba Nest
Perched atop a building on Sakdidej Road in Phuket's Wichit area, Baba Nest draws visitors primarily for its sweeping panoramic views and the chance to watch the sunset from an open-air rooftop setting. The elevated position offers a genuine spectacle at dusk, with a natural breeze that adds to the experience — making it a popular choice for a special evening out rather than a casual drop-in bar. Cocktails are the drink of choice here, though reviews suggest they are competent rather than exceptional, with some visitors switching to beer after the first round. Food is available and covers a range of options including Mexican-style dishes, which receive solid praise, though several visitors note the cuisine plays a supporting role to the views. The venue operates a minimum spend policy of around 1,000 THB per person, which is worth factoring into your budget before arriving. Table placement varies, and not every seat offers an unobstructed view of the horizon — something worth raising at the time of booking. Reservations are strongly recommended, particularly around sunset hours when demand peaks. As opening hours are not confirmed online, contacting the venue directly before visiting is advisable. Baba Nest suits those willing to pay a premium for atmosphere and scenery; those prioritising food or drink quality alone may find better value elsewhere in Phuket.

Visitor Reviews
We enjoyed dinner at Baba Nest for our first night in Thailand. Such a stunning place! Absolutely breathtaking views with a nice breeze since you are sitting on top of the building. The food was better than I expected and we weren't rushed to leave at the end.
Sunset was magical. Food and drink were okay but you primarily pay for access to the view.
Baba Nest certainly does have amazing views, a beautiful place to watch the sunset. My cocktail was okay, but nothing special so switched to beer afterwards. The food was great - we love Mexican so suited us brilliantly, however there is limited choice if that's not quite your thing. It was of course quite pricey and you do have to book (and pay) in advance. Overall, a great place to have a drink as the sun goes down!

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
