BAR NOT FOUND
Tucked away in the Si Phum area of Chiang Mai's old town, Bar Not Found has built a devoted following among visitors who stumble across it — often describing the discovery itself as part of the appeal. The entrance alone sets the tone for what follows: a deliberately unconventional space that rewards those willing to seek it out. It sits within easy walking distance of most old town accommodation, making it a natural stop when exploring the neighbourhood after dark. The bar specialises in creative cocktails, with bartenders — including the frequently praised Phi-Foam — known for drinks that are as visually striking as they are inventive. The interior carries a distinct design concept built around a colour palette theme, giving it a cohesive, considered aesthetic that stands apart from Chiang Mai's more generic nightlife options. The atmosphere is cosy and sociable, drawing a mix of travellers and locals in a relaxed but energetic setting. Good to know: reviewers note that finding the bar can be a genuine challenge, so it is worth looking up directions carefully before heading out rather than relying on a casual stroll past. Prices sit above the budget end of Chiang Mai's bar scene, but visitors consistently consider them fair given the quality and craft on offer. Opening hours are not listed online, so checking ahead via your accommodation or arriving earlier in the evening to confirm access is a sensible approach.

Visitor Reviews
This was a random find on Google Maps & turned out to be one of the best finds on my Chiang Mai trip! Starting from the entrance into the bar which was such a fun experience, you are immediately greeted with a super cozy atmosphere inside with soft light from the lamps & eclectic furniture! The cocktails taste amazing & the bartenders were super friendly as well. Inviting us to the bar tables for conversations & sharing about life in Chiang Mai & even the drink making process. I would highly recommend this bar for anyone visiting & I can’t wait to be back again myself!
Phi-Foam made amazing drinks! We were amazed by how creative the drinks were and how the place looks. Definitely a must try if you come to Chiang Mai. If it is your birthday, ask for a birthday shot! They are so so good! The place is small so come early to get a seat and enjoy the laid back and funky vibe!
It’s a challenge to find this place, but boy is it worth it. Really cosy space with the most creative cocktails you can’t even imagine. Not exactly cheap, but absolutely worth it. Find it. Experience it. Remember it.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
