Green Room Bangkok

4.7(283 reviews)$$$$

Tucked just off Sukhumvit Road on Soi 7/1, Green Room Bangkok is a live music bar that stands out from the generic cover band circuit. The venue regularly hosts multiple bands in a single evening, with a leaning toward blues and rock alongside a broad range of English-language music. Regulars and first-timers alike tend to leave impressed — both by the quality of the performances and by a sound setup that does justice to them. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with staff described consistently as friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Running tabs are kept accurately, and the overall experience feels like a neighbourhood bar that happens to have genuinely good live entertainment. Drinks are mid-range for the Sukhumvit area — a small bottle of beer runs around 150 baht — which is slightly above the cheapest options nearby, though most visitors consider it fair given the quality of the show. Good to know: Green Room is primarily a drinking and live music venue, not a dining spot, so plan accordingly if you're looking for food. If you prefer blues and rock over mainstream pop covers, this is worth specifically seeking out rather than stumbling into. Arriving early gives you a better chance of settling in before the bands draw a fuller crowd later in the evening.

We had an amazing experience at Green Bangkok — the atmosphere was electric, thanks to their incredible live music scene. Two bands stood out and absolutely blew us away with their performances. The energy, talent, and vibe they brought to the stage really made the night special. We had an absolute blast performing at Green Bangkok — what an incredible venue with an amazing vibe! Huge thanks to Sagar for being so welcoming and accommodating us to perform. Everything was so well organized, and the energy of the crowd made it an unforgettable experience for us as musicians. And let’s not forget the food — seriously delicious! Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The perfect complement to a night of great music and good company. If you're looking for a spot in Bangkok with amazing live music, fantastic food, and warm hospitality, Green Bangkok is the place to be. We'll definitely be back!

Very cool place with good music bands. We saw 2 different bands during our evening. Great vibe, good sound! Such a great service, they are very attentive without being pushy. Running bill was accurate. Definitely our new place to go when we will be in Bangkok! 🤘🏼😊

Great little place in Sukhumvit (soi 7/1). Staff and the band are very friendly. Drinks are the usual price for Sukhumvit. The band is great, and plays a wide range of English music. Ideal for a beer while shopping and checking out the area. Recommended a visit.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars

Carry Your Passport or a Copy

Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.

Know the Closing Times

Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.

Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously

Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
