Fishbone Live Music Bar
Tucked down a soi in the Phra Khanong area of eastern Bangkok, this small but spirited live music bar has built a loyal following among both locals and travellers looking for genuine entertainment away from the city's more commercial nightlife strips. The venue centres entirely around its live band performances, with the music providing the atmosphere rather than elaborate decor or flashy interiors. It functions as both a cocktail bar and an event venue, with the intimate size creating an energy that larger Bangkok bars rarely manage to replicate. Visitors can expect attentive, friendly staff and a relaxed crowd gathered around the performances. Beers are reasonably priced — pints of Tiger have been noted at around 120 baht — and the service is consistently praised. The bar is compact, which adds to the atmosphere but means it gets noticeably busy, particularly on Fridays and weekends when the crowd can pack in tightly. Good to know: Live music reportedly runs Thursday through Sunday, though it is worth checking social media or calling ahead to confirm the schedule before visiting, as programming can vary. For those who prefer a bit more breathing room, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings still feature live performances and tend to draw a smaller crowd, making for a more relaxed experience without missing out on the music.

Visitor Reviews
Oh my god! I finally found it! The best live music bar in Bangkok! Or at least one of them! Band is awesome here on Fridays, I believe they play Thursday to Sunday. It’s a small bar but they won’t blow your head off with the volume, it’s pleasant and the musicians are very good. They play songs on request and have a great interaction with the guests. The staff is superb, providing excellent service and you can really tell that they care and see you. It’s very unlike any other bars and pubs in Bangkok where the service is mediocre at best, this place should be the blueprint for other places. Nice and clean toilets and comfy seating inside and out. Prices are very good, although I had such a good time I forgot to check my bill! I look forward to coming back again!
I left very good memories here. In fact, before coming to this bar, I went to another very terrible bar. My friend and I stayed in it for only one minute and left immediately. But because I didn’t want to waste the good time of the night, I just wanted to take a walk in the W market near the hotel, but I found this bar. I felt very surprised and pleasantly surprised, which made my good mood come back again, so I visited this store for two consecutive nights. This bar is the biggest surprise of my trip. Next time I come to Bangkok, I will definitely come back. My name is kimkim! ! I would love to know the name of this band, if anyone knows please tell me!!!
Came in on two consecutive nights (Tuesday and Wednesday). The live music was superb on both days. The staff are friendly, and the beers are of great value – just 120B for a pint of Tiger. Didn't try any food but the fried spring rolls look good. Will definitely come back again.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
