Asia Today Bar
Tucked into the Pom Prap neighbourhood on the edge of Bangkok's Chinatown, Asia Today Bar operates as a speakeasy-style venue that has quietly built a devoted following among locals and travellers alike. The bar distinguishes itself through a creative cocktail programme that incorporates rare Thai honey sourced from across the country — an unusual touch that gives visitors something genuinely different from the standard Bangkok bar scene. The atmosphere leans toward cool and intimate rather than loud and commercial. Expect interesting decor, a chilled vibe, and a bar team — including staff regularly praised by name in visitor reviews — who bring a high level of craft and warmth to the experience. Bottles of the house honey are also available to purchase, making it a useful stop for those looking to take home an edible souvenir. The venue draws a sociable crowd and the window tables, when available, are a particularly good spot for an evening out. Asia Today is popular enough that queues are common on busier nights, so arriving earlier in the evening improves the chances of securing a table without a wait. No website or listed opening hours are available online, so visiting during typical Bangkok bar hours from around 8pm onwards is the safest approach. The surrounding Chinatown and Nana areas offer a wide range of dining options, making it straightforward to build a longer evening around a visit here.

Visitor Reviews
We had four drinks in total and bought some honey. It was an interesting experience to taste some of the rare honey harvested in Thailand. The staff are young yet professional. A lovely place, not too noisy and with good vibes.
Asia Today Bar is an absolutely amazing experience and a must-try in the neighborhood. Drinking cocktails here feels like discovering something truly special. They use local Thai honey in their drinks, and it makes every cocktail feel unique, thoughtful, and deeply connected to Thailand. The flavors are creative, balanced, and unlike anything we’ve tried elsewhere. The staff are incredible — genuinely kind, patient, and passionate. They take the time to explain everything as much as you want, from the ingredients to the story behind each drink, without ever making it feel rushed or pretentious. You really feel welcomed and taken care of. The atmosphere is relaxed, cool, and intimate — perfect for actually enjoying your drinks and the experience. This isn’t just a bar; it’s a place where craft, culture, and hospitality come together beautifully. If you’re in the area, this is a must-try at least once (though you’ll probably come back). One of the best cocktail experiences we had in Bangkok. Highly recommended. 🍯🍸
I’ve always wanted to go to Asia Today, but every time I tried it was packed with a long line. Luckily, last night we managed to get a lovely table for four by the window and had an amazing experience. This cocktail bar in Chinatown is so cool. They use wild, single-origin Thai honey in their cocktails, which is incredibly niche and unique. My husband had the Bee’s Knees, our friends each tried different cocktails, and I had a 0% alcohol drink that was surprisingly delicious. The service was incredible as well—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
