Phuket Old Town เมืองเก่าภูเก็ต
Phuket Old Town is a well-preserved heritage district in the heart of Phuket city, known for its striking Sino-Portuguese shophouse architecture and a lively mix of local markets, independent boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. The colourful, ornate buildings date back to the tin-mining era and give the area a character comparable to the heritage streets of Penang or Ipoh — a connection visitors familiar with those destinations will immediately recognise. Murals and street art add a contemporary layer to the historic streetscape, making it a popular area for photography. Visitors can expect to browse a wide range of Thailand souvenirs, clothing, and handicrafts alongside locally run eateries and hip cafes that have taken up residence in restored heritage buildings. The Sunday market is a particular highlight, drawing both locals and tourists for food, goods, and a stronger sense of the neighbourhood's character. As a tourist-oriented area, most shops cater firmly to visitors, so those seeking purely local or off-the-beaten-path experiences may find it more curated than authentic. The area is best explored on foot, with all major sights, shops, and restaurants within easy walking distance of one another. Parking in the surrounding streets is limited and can be difficult to find, so arriving by taxi, tuk-tuk, or rideshare app is a practical choice. The district is open daily from 9am to 6pm, though the Sunday market brings extra atmosphere and a wider selection of vendors, making it a worthwhile day to plan a visit around.

Visitor Reviews
Beautiful colorful buildings with unique local shops and restaurants. Perfect place to take a stroll, shop souvenirs and gifts. Enjoyed the art work on some buildings along the walk. Special Sunday market, try not to miss it if ur planning to visit this place.
I love this place. So many beautiful old houses, exciting sunday market, good foods, and we found a lot of nice paintings
Lots of shops, lots of historical buildings, lots of sites to see. Worth a visit to talk a walk, and see some interesting stuffs. But keep in mind, it’s a tourist location, so most shops are selling similar things, only a few that are unique.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
