Night Market Patong
Located on Thanon Prachanukhro in the heart of Patong, this bustling night market draws a steady crowd of locals and tourists every evening, offering an accessible taste of Thai market culture in Phuket's most energetic beach district. Stalls span clothing, souvenirs, and everyday goods alongside a wide variety of street food and drinks — the coconut ice cream in particular draws consistent praise from visitors. The atmosphere is loud, colourful, and unapologetically busy, with the energy of the crowd forming as much a part of the experience as the stalls themselves. Food is the primary draw for most visitors, though opinions on quality are mixed. While the variety and energy of the food section impress many, some reviewers note inconsistency across stalls, with certain dishes falling short of expectations and seafood priced on the higher side. Table cleanliness has also been flagged, so approaching the dining area with realistic expectations is sensible. It is best treated as a casual, walkable evening out rather than a dedicated dining destination. The market opens at 3 PM daily and runs until midnight, though the atmosphere builds properly in the early evening — arriving between 5 PM and 7 PM tends to offer a good balance of vendor variety and manageable crowds. Most stalls operate on a cash-only basis, so carrying Thai baht is advisable. Comfortable footwear is recommended, as the floor gets congested during peak hours. A paid public toilet is available on-site toward the rear of the market.

Visitor Reviews
I thoroughly enjoyed shopping here for clothes, sovieners and food. The food and drinks stalls were amazing, with so much variety we did not know what to choose. The coconut icecream was delicious. Exotic fruits was available and so pleasing to the eyes. We went there for dinner every day for 3 nights.
Crazy place ever seen, ever visit. This place never sleep Peoples are in full energy Food was amazing and the way they manage the clients, is ine thing to observe
Patong Night Market is an absolute must-visit if you’re staying anywhere near Patong or Phuket. I went in with high expectations after hearing so many great things, and it still managed to exceed everything I imagined. The moment you enter, you’re greeted with a colorful buzz of energy—stalls sizzling with street food, vendors calling out friendly hellos, music playing in the background, and the scent of spices drifting through the air. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend hours without even noticing the time go by. The food is definitely the highlight. From freshly grilled seafood to mango sticky rice, pad thai, skewers, and so many uniquely Thai snacks, there’s something for everyone. Everything I tried was full of flavor and surprisingly well-priced for such a popular area. The vendors were welcoming and happy to recommend dishes or explain what things were, which made the experience feel even more enjoyable. Beyond the food, the market also has plenty of shopping options—clothes, souvenirs, accessories, handmade crafts, and more. Bargaining is expected, but always done with a smile. The whole atmosphere feels lively, safe, and perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers. If you’re looking for great food, fun shopping, and an authentic slice of Phuket nightlife, Patong Night Market is absolutely worth the visit. I’d highly recommend it to anyone exploring the area!

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
