Compare prices
Nestled in the hills of Mae Chan district, Chiang Rai, Katiliya Mountain Resort & Spa is an all-suite resort set within forested mountain surroundings, positioned well away from the noise of the city. The resort's elevated setting delivers striking views across the landscape, with guests frequently noting the quality of both sunrise and sunset as genuine highlights of their stay. A grand entrance leads into a welcoming property that includes outdoor pools, a spa, and dining with scenic outlooks — making it a natural fit for couples, honeymooners, or anyone seeking a peaceful retreat. Guests staying in the Mountain View suites can expect attentive service, well-maintained pools, and spa treatments delivered by experienced staff. The resort includes free breakfast and on-site dining, though those planning longer stays should be aware that dining variety is somewhat limited. Some rooms show signs of wear and would benefit from updates, and the property involves a fair amount of steps between levels, which may be a consideration for guests with mobility difficulties. Katiliya suits travellers prioritising tranquillity and natural scenery over proximity to Chiang Rai city. The resort's remote hillside location means a private vehicle or organised transfer is advisable for getting around. Booking directly through the resort's website at katiliya.com is recommended, and guests planning a special occasion should enquire in advance, as staff have a noted reputation for going the extra distance for milestone stays.

Visitor Reviews
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and the whole area is absolutely gorgeous! The sunset view during supper was just incredible. The hotel entrance is quite impressive, but still welcoming. We were greeted with welcome drinks. There was a bit of a hiccup with our original booking through a third-party service, but the manager handled it so well. We stayed in a lovely room with a big tub. The bed was super comfy. We slept with the windows open, and the cool breeze was just what we needed. Our room was next to an open games room with a billiards table and mini-putt. There was even food for the koi fish. The pools were open, clean and inviting, but we didn’t swim. Towels were conveniently placed near the pool. There was also a park and a private zoo nearby with birds, deer and bunnies. There were free oranges to feed the deer, which was a nice treat for both of us and them. The whole resort was filled with stones and gardens. It was a truly beautiful stay. I’m giving it a 5-star rating, which I think is fair. However, I wanted to mention that some of the rooms and areas of the resort looked a bit worn and could use a little TLC. It’s one of the most disappointing things to see beautiful rooms with paint all over the furniture and wood trim because they weren’t properly prepared and protected during the painting process. Wires have been clipped but left dangling. It definitely needs some attention. We would love to return in the future. Thank you Katiliya Mountain Resort for the lovely stay.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, even though I was there for only one night. Its remote location, far from the noise of the city, makes it a perfect retreat for anyone seeking peace and a close connection with nature. At night, you can admire a sky full of stars and fall asleep to the calming sounds of nature, including the gentle croaking of frogs from the nearby ponds. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, with beds that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. The food was outstanding as well—full of flavor and served in very generous portions. I only wish I could have stayed longer, and I truly recommend booking at least two or even three nights to fully enjoy everything this place has to offer. I highly recommend it.
Enjoyed the Mountain View suite as a two-night stay. Everyone was so helpful and perfectly able to make sure we had the most comfortable time. The pools were so nice and the ladies at the spa did the work of angels for my wife and I. The crew caring for the guests while dining were the best, as well. And god bless the bartender as his drinks were top-shelf, top-notch. This place is all it’s cracked up to be when viewing brochures or online. It really is that nice and has stayed that way for more than ten years. If at all possible, put this one on your bucket list.
