W Beach
W Beach is a small, quiet stretch of coastline on Koh Samui, notable for its dense palm tree coverage that provides natural shade along the shore. The beach is divided into two sections: a private area belonging to the W Koh Samui hotel and a public area where visitors are free to relax and access water sports. The calm atmosphere and relatively low foot traffic make it a genuinely peaceful alternative to busier beaches elsewhere on the island. The setting leans toward natural simplicity rather than lively beach club energy. There are no bars or restaurants on the public side, and the water is consistently clean and clear. The hotel's bar operates on the private section, though visitors should be aware that pricing there is notably high — bringing your own refreshments to the public area is a practical and widely adopted approach among visitors. Good to know: Non-guests are welcome on the public portion of the beach at no charge, but wandering into the hotel's private section without spending a minimum amount per person may result in being asked to leave. Koh Samui's dry season runs from December to April, offering the most reliable conditions for beach visits, while the Gulf Coast monsoon season between October and November can bring rougher water and overcast skies. Sun protection and light clothing are recommended year-round. For the latest details on hotel amenities or any access arrangements, checking the official website at wretreatkohsamui.com before visiting is advisable.

Visitor Reviews
Beautiful beach in a quite area of Koh Samui. The bwach has a private part belonging to W Koh Samui hotel and a public part. Both areas are nice. On the public part some water sports are available as well as a massage hut for those who like to get nassaged in public. In the private area you will find a bar whichbis attached to the hotel and hence priced above the usual bar prices on the island.
A hidden gem - relatively small beach with pleny of palm trees where you can hide in the shadow underneath. It's really calm and peaceful place - didn't see any bars nor restaurants here, just few people.
Amazing stay at W Beach - great vibe, beautiful location, and perfect for a relaxed yet stylish getaway. Loved every moment and would happily come back
Tips for Visiting Beaches & Islands
Check Monsoon Seasons
The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) has rough seas from May to October. The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan) is roughest from October to December. Plan your island-hopping around these windows.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Tesco Lotus or Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Book Ferries on 12Go.Asia
The 12Go platform lets you compare ferry operators, times, and prices between islands. Book a day or two ahead in high season. Avoid the cheapest operators if reviews mention safety concerns.
