Pum Thai Restaurant & Cooking School - Patong
This combination restaurant and cooking school on Phra Phuket Kaeo Road offers travellers a genuinely interactive way to engage with Thai cuisine. Participants choose their own dishes from a menu of classics — pad Thai, green curry, mango sticky rice, and more — meaning each class feels personal rather than one-size-fits-all. The setup also suits groups, with the studio comfortably accommodating up to 18 people, making it a popular choice for team-building events and travel groups alike. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun, and informal, with instructors consistently praised by visitors for their warmth, knowledge, and energy. Classes run at a pace that welcomes beginners, focusing on fresh, simple ingredients and traditional techniques. For those not joining a class, the restaurant also functions as a casual dining spot serving freshly prepared Thai food. Budget-friendly pricing makes it accessible without compromising on quality or experience. The venue is open every day from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Those interested in a cooking class should book in advance through the website at pumthaifoodchain.co.th, as class schedules and availability can vary. Checking ahead also allows participants to confirm dish selections, which are typically chosen at the time of booking.

Visitor Reviews
We had Pum‘s little schools. I liked that the booking was very easy, every participant was able to select his own 3 meals that he likes. I learned a lot of Thai Food and language and even that I cooked it - it was great. Tukki was explaining it very well and entertained us during the preparation. I would recommend to come here, get to know important basics that you can take home and enrich your skills.
We decided to take a Thai cooking class at Pum’s and we were not disappointed. Tukki was an amazing teacher, bringing great knowledge and awesome vibes to the class. Tukki explained everything really well and the food we made was delicious. We even had to purchase some of the paste it was that good! Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of taking a class 😊
We organised a teambuilding cooking class with Pum and boy was it fun! Would recommend to all. The studio can take a max of 18pax comfortably. Mango sticky rice, pad Thai, green curry etc are all options you can choose to learn. We took the Andaman class and Pum and team made all things possible. Khop khun kaa Khun Pum!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
