Samui exotic park
Tucked away in the quieter Maenam area of Koh Samui, this exotic animal park offers hands-on wildlife encounters that go well beyond standard zoo visits. Visitors can get up close with a range of animals, from playful monkeys and gentle meerkats to overly friendly pigs, with the park currently housing a rescued baby lioness for those feeling adventurous. The intimate scale of the facility means interactions feel personal rather than rushed, making it a popular choice for couples, families, and anyone looking for an activity beyond the island's beaches. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, particularly during the late morning hours when the park tends to be quieter. Purchasing a feeding basket is widely recommended by visitors as it significantly enhances the experience, allowing for direct interaction with the animals. Reviewers consistently note that the animals appear healthy and well cared for, adding to the overall enjoyment of the visit. Good to know: Arriving around midday offers a quieter experience before crowds build in the early afternoon. As specific opening hours and admission prices are not listed online, it is worth contacting the park directly before visiting or building flexibility into your itinerary. The park is located on Maenam Soi 1, away from the busier southern and eastern parts of Koh Samui, so factor in travel time from your accommodation. Comfortable footwear and sun protection are advisable for this outdoor attraction.

Visitor Reviews
We had such a wonderful time at the exotic petting zoo. The animals were healthy, well-cared for, and surprisingly gentle. Each interaction felt unique, from feeding the smaller animals to getting up close with the more exotic species. The staff were fantastic—knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They took time to explain each animal’s personality and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the visit. The entire place was clean, well-organized, and beautifully maintained. You can really see the love and effort that goes into creating a great experience for visitors and providing a kind, enriching environment for the animals. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone who wants a fun, memorable, and educational experience. We’ll definitely be back!
We had an amazing time at Exotic Park on Koh Samui! This place is truly perfect for both kids and adults. My boyfriend and I were absolutely impressed by how well they take care of the animals. You can really see the love, attention, and effort that goes into their wellbeing. What touched us the most is how comfortable the animals are with each other – they are so used to one another and even play together, which was beautiful to watch.
We visited around 12:00 PM, and it was pleasantly quiet. More visitors started arriving around 1:30 PM. We also bought a feeding basket, which we definitely recommend. Feeding the animals was a great experience, especially the turtles. It was fascinating to see so many different animals living together in one place. The staff were kind, helpful, and it was clear that they genuinely care about the animals. A lovely and memorable visit.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
