Lat Wanon Waterfall
Tucked away in the quieter Lipa Noi area of Koh Samui, Lat Wanon Waterfall offers a refreshing contrast to the island's more commercial attractions. The cascade sits within a lush jungle setting and draws visitors looking for a peaceful, uncrowded experience. Regulars return specifically for the tranquillity, and the waterfall's natural pools allow visitors to wade in and cool off. A small fish-feeding spot and nearby restaurants add a little character to the visit, making it more than just a quick stop. Getting there requires some navigation, as signage is limited and the access roads are rough in places. A motorbike with reasonable ground clearance handles the terrain better than a scooter, and the short walk from the roadside parking area leads into a shaded, immersive jungle environment. Those willing to climb further up the rocks are rewarded with more secluded spots along the waterfall itself. Good to know: There is no dedicated car park, so visitors typically park along the main road. The path to the waterfall is steep in sections, making flip-flops unsuitable — sturdy shoes or water-resistant sandals are strongly recommended. The waterfall flows most impressively after periods of rainfall, though heavy rain can also affect accessibility. Visiting during daylight hours is advisable given the lack of facilities on site. The dry season months of November to February generally offer the most comfortable hiking conditions.

Visitor Reviews
Nice waterfall, everytime I go to Koh Samui, I like to get back here because it's such a quiet place. You can walk way up the rocks and down the waterfall you can relax in the water.
Best waterfall, relaxing and thai waterfall, less tourists, peaceful and lots of water flowing due to the rain in MAY
Not easy to get there. There are only few subtle indications here and there. The roads are also very old and messy. Hope you have a strong motorbike! The waterfalls are nice, not as big as it may seem on the internet, but it’s still nice to get there. The place is worth the road and it’s quite peaceful!

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
