Stray Travel Asia
Operating out of the Banglamphu neighbourhood in Bangkok, Stray Travel Asia is a tour operator specialising in guided group travel across Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on destinations like Borneo and broader regional itineraries. The agency attracts independent travellers looking for a structured yet immersive way to explore parts of Asia that can be difficult or time-consuming to navigate solo. Visitors consistently highlight the quality and knowledge of the tour guides as a standout feature, along with well-organised itineraries that go beyond typical tourist stops. The Borneo Explorer tour has drawn particular praise, with travellers noting memorable wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, and comfortable accommodation. The group travel format suits those who want the social dimension of travelling with others while leaving logistics in capable hands. Prospective travellers should note that Stray Asia operates as a tour agency rather than a walk-in service, so browsing and booking in advance through their website is the recommended approach before arriving in Bangkok. The office is located on Soi Rambutri, a well-known street in the backpacker-friendly Banglamphu area, making it conveniently situated for those already staying nearby. Confirming tour departure dates, inclusions, and pick-up arrangements directly with the agency before booking is advisable to avoid any confusion about logistics.

Visitor Reviews
Borneo is somewhere I was very intrigued to visit and I would not have preferred to travel with any tour other than Stray! The Stray Borneo Explorer not only showed me the great culture and history within Borneo, but also the stunning remote beaches and one of a kind wildlife and nature experiences. I met the best people from around the world on this tour, getting to find out all the interesting life stories and making long-term friends, which I never would of done if I didn't travel with Stray. The guides were a great fun and are very knowledgeable! The Stray Borneo Tour is an 11/10 from me
I went with Stray Asia on their first trip to Borneo and it was incredible! The tour guide was extremely knowledgable and caring, the itinerary included tons of unique things to do in Borneo such as wildlife excursions, jungle trips and island exploring! Stray were very professional in arranging my trip, very helpful with any enquiries I had and all round created one of the best experiences I've had in 8 years travelling, to date! Highly recommended!
The first time I ever travelled to Asia was on this Borneo Trip and it exceeded all expectations. Borneo has the best beaches, very friendly locals, and amazing wildlife encounters. The accommodation provided by Stray was at a very high quality and the guides were very helpful, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Cannot wait to travel again with Stray!
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
