Homies Thai Cooking School
Homies Thai Cooking School offers a full-day immersive experience that goes well beyond the kitchen. Classes begin with a trip to a local food market to source fresh ingredients, followed by a tuk-tuk ride to the school — giving participants a taste of Bangkok street life before the cooking even starts. Instructors including Ray, Nat, and Nut are consistently praised by visitors for being knowledgeable, patient, and engaging, making the experience welcoming for all skill levels and suitable for families with younger children. A typical class covers four dishes: Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, papaya salad, and mango sticky rice. Participants prepare each course themselves under guided instruction, learning the techniques and flavor balance that define Thai cuisine. Everything made in class is eaten as part of the session, so visitors leave both skilled and well-fed. The intimate setting allows for plenty of interaction with instructors and genuine insight into Thai culinary traditions. Good to know: The experience is structured as a guided outing rather than a standalone kitchen class, so participants should allow several hours and come ready to be on their feet. The school is located in the Huai Khwang district, away from the main tourist areas, which adds to the local atmosphere. Advance booking is strongly recommended, as classes are popular and spots are limited. Check current pricing and scheduling directly, as a website is not currently available for this listing.

Visitor Reviews
We had a wonderful time cooking Thai food today! Ray and Nat were great instructors and incredibly kind and patient with our group, especially our 2 youngest chefs (7 and 8). I loved how they involved them and made sure they were safe throughout the process from prepping to cooking. We made delicious Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Papaya Salad, and Mango Sticky Rice! Enjoyed everything from market to tuktuk ride to cooking and eating! Thank you Homies!!
Don't miss this experience! Going to the food market to get groceries, getting a tuk tuk to the school and learning how to cook authentic Thai dishes was great! Nut did such a great job! He is really nice and professional and explained everything perfectly, we actually cook our own dishes and was easy to follow. Food was delicious and the group was also ver nice! It is a great experience for solo travellers food lovers !
it’s more than perfect! we not only made 4 courses from Tom Yum soup, Pat Tai, papaya salad to mango sticky rice, each one is fun and perfect! the market shopping, Tul tuk car ride… everything is so interesting. Our teacher Nut is really nice and helpful, my wife and I had a great time with lots of photos. Definitely recommend for all my friends!
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
