Bird Watch Tower
Located within the Queen Sirikit Botanical Park in Chatuchak, this modern steel observation tower rises to approximately five storeys and offers sweeping panoramic views across the park's gardens and the surrounding Bangkok cityscape. It is a relatively new structure, built in a contemporary style, and makes for a pleasant stop within one of the city's greener urban spaces. Despite its name, visitors should temper expectations around actual birdwatching. The tower is largely enclosed in metal mesh netting, which significantly obstructs the view through binoculars and makes spotting wildlife difficult. Dedicated birders are likely to find this frustrating. That said, birds can often be heard from within the structure, and the elevated vantage point delivers an appealing perspective of the botanical park below and the city skyline beyond. For casual visitors, it functions more as a scenic lookout than a serious wildlife observation point. As the tower sits within the Queen Sirikit Botanical Park, visitors should factor in park access when planning their visit, as opening hours and any entry requirements will be tied to the wider park rather than the tower itself. The tower is best appreciated as a short detour within a broader park visit rather than a standalone destination. Those travelling with binoculars for birdwatching purposes may wish to explore other locations in the Bangkok area better suited to wildlife observation.

Visitor Reviews
Stunning spot to get a city skyline view from the middle of the park! You can hear lots of birds, but if you’re coming here for true bird watching the outer netting might make it a little hard to get a super clear view of a bird. Otherwise, totally recommend you stop here and climb the steps / ramps for a stellar view. There was even a group of people doing a modeling photo shoot on the staircase, to give you a sense of the beauty 😅
Not sure if you’ll actually see any birds, but an interesting structure nevertheless
A brand new bird watch tower within Queen Sirikit Botanical park, this tower is made of steel in modern style. Its height is about a 5-storey building so when you climb up top you can see a panoramic view of the park. Anyway, due to the structure and for some security reasons, there are so many nets that blocks the total clear view. I'd like to give 3.5 stars because i am worried about safety. The structure of this tower seems too fragile to me, the steel ladders are thin and seems not secure if there are too many people at the same time. There should be some signs telling how many people the tower can accommodate, or probably some do's and dont's as safety precaution.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
