Perana Wellness Resort
Perana Wellness Resort is a small, owner-run retreat set within a lush valley in the Hang Dong district, roughly 30 to 40 minutes from central Chiang Mai and the international airport. Surrounded by nature, the resort offers a genuine escape from the city while remaining accessible for those who want to explore the region. Guests stay in spacious, well-appointed rooms with careful attention to detail, and the grounds include a swimming pool and a fully equipped gym. The atmosphere here is calm and unhurried, shaped largely by the hands-on care of the owner and staff. Meals draw consistent praise from visitors, with breakfast in particular standing out — the pumpkin soup has become something of a talking point among guests. The resort suits travellers looking to decompress over several days, and a number of visitors have extended their stays after arriving, citing the quality of service and the overall sense of welcome. As a relatively new property with limited online presence, booking directly and confirming availability in advance is advisable, especially given its small scale. The surrounding natural setting makes it well suited to any season, though the cooler months between November and February are generally the most comfortable time to visit the Chiang Mai region. Those seeking a quiet, nature-focused stay with attentive personal service will find this resort a strong fit.

Visitor Reviews
When we first heard of this Resort we didn’t know much because it was new. We booked for two nights but after experiencing great service and amazing staff we decided to stay two more nights. The resort is located outside the city up a mountain and the road to get there is very accessible. The drive to there has nice views and once at the resort even better ones. We came to find out the resort only has 14 rooms but by the size of the facility the rooms are very spacious and most of them are suites. From the marble floors to the big bathroom and not to mention the kitchen area you have plenty of room for your luggage and they even offer massages (at an extra cost) in your room, which we did. If you want to relax you can visit the pool and pool area. You can be adventurous and go on a 20 minute hike by the back of the resort or be like us and eat at the cafe or the dining area for breakfast and lunch. The food was great and the smoothies even better. The staff are very attentive and can accommodate any requests you may have. We stayed longer than we planned but totally worth it. Next time we visit this part of Thailand we will be booking at this resort Perana.
An absolutely amazing experience !! This small wellness resort is located in a breathtaking valley just 30 minutes away from Chiang Mai. The Nature is overwhelming… The Rooms are very spacious and clean. The Manager and the staff are extremely helpful and motivated ! This was by far the best resort we have ever stayed in. When you like Nature, Wellness, good food, and a unique experience, then don’t hesitate to discover this jewel. Furthermore it’s very close to Hang Dong, the famous furniture and decoration area of Thailand.
A wonderful experience! The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, with beautifully designed, clean rooms that show great attention to detail. The pumpkin soup at breakfast was a highlight. We felt so welcomed by the staff's smiles. Excellent value for money—highly recommended 🤍🧘🙏🏼
Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
