Lat Phrao MRT Station

4.3(258 reviews)

Lat Phrao MRT Station sits on the MRT Blue Line in the Chom Phon area of Chatuchak, Bangkok, and serves as an important interchange point for travellers needing to connect between the Blue and Yellow lines. The Yellow Line terminus is accessible a short distance from Exit 4, making this station a practical transfer hub for commuters and visitors moving between different parts of the city. The station precinct offers more than just transit connections. A Park and Ride building adjacent to the station houses a Gourmet Market along with a variety of food stalls, coffee counters, and dessert options — making it a convenient stop to grab a meal or snack before or after a journey. Visitors report that fresh food and sit-down dining are both available on-site, which is a practical bonus for those passing through during peak hours. Travellers should be aware that the interchange walk between the Blue and Yellow lines requires a reasonable amount of walking, so those carrying heavy luggage or large bags should factor in extra time and energy. The station operates as part of Bangkok's broader MRT network, and riders should have their transit card or fare ready before entering. As with most Bangkok MRT stations, peak morning and evening commute hours tend to be busier, so those with flexibility may prefer to travel outside these windows.

Convenient transportation. Before coming down to the ticket office, there is a gourmet where you can buy food, both fresh food. Sit and eat at the shop. There is a corner for coffee and desserts. Travel is arranged in an orderly manner. Facilitates and cares for disabled passengers very well.

interchange station from MRT blue line to yellow. Another long way walking. Burning my calories again with 15kg bag pack. 😁

Tips for Visiting Transportation

Take the Sleeper Train at Least Once

The Bangkok-to-Chiang Mai overnight train in a second-class sleeper berth is a bucket-list experience. Book at least a week ahead via 12Go.asia or at Hua Lamphong station. Upper berths are cheaper and have more headroom; lower berths have a window.

Use Grab Everywhere

Grab is the Uber of Southeast Asia and works across Thailand for cars, motorbike taxis, and even tuk-tuks in some cities. It eliminates haggling and provides fare estimates upfront. Load a Thai SIM or use eSIM to stay connected.

Rent Scooters Carefully

Always photograph the scooter's existing damage before riding off, and keep your passport — give a photocopy instead (some shops insist on the original; avoid these). Wear a helmet; police fine 500 THB for no helmet and accidents without one void insurance.
