Old Phuket Farm
Tucked inland in the Thalang district, Old Phuket Farm offers a genuine alternative to the island's beach and resort scene, drawing visitors who want to understand how Phuket's communities lived before modern development reshaped the landscape. The attraction focuses on the island's agricultural heritage, presenting traditional architecture, local craftsmanship, and hands-on cultural experiences within a carefully maintained rural setting. Guided tours are a highlight here, with knowledgeable guides leading visitors through exhibits and demonstrations that bring Phuket's past to life. Reviewers frequently single out the storytelling as particularly memorable, noting that guides share personal and generational histories that add real depth to the experience. Visitors can try traditional activities such as rice planting, making the visit participatory rather than purely observational. An on-site restaurant serves local food, rounding out the experience with regional flavours in a relaxed setting. Good to know: Old Phuket Farm opens daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, making it well suited to a morning or early afternoon half-day visit. The site is located in Tambon Thep Krasatti in Thalang, north of central Phuket, so arranging private transport or a rental vehicle is advisable. Wear comfortable walking shoes and lightweight, breathable clothing appropriate for outdoor exploration in a tropical climate. The farm is a welcoming environment for families, with children responding well to the interactive elements.

Visitor Reviews
A Hidden Gem in Phuket! I recently visited Phuket Old Farm, and it was hands-down one of the highlights of my trip. If you want to see the authentic side of the island away from the tourist crowds, this is the place to go. The soul of this experience is definitely our guide, Victor. He is incredibly charismatic, energetic, and has a natural gift for storytelling. You can tell he is truly passionate about what he does, which makes every minute of the tour engaging. What resonated with me the most was the part of his story about family ties and the local community. Victor explained so beautifully how the farms are interconnected and how the strong sense of community keeps their traditions alive. It wasn’t just a history lesson; it felt like being welcomed into a big family. It’s rare to find a guide who can balance humor, deep knowledge, and genuine warmth so well. Highly recommended!
This was a fantastic experience, our tour guide for the session was lead by a wonderful man called Victor - He was EXCELLENT at his job and extremely informative of the learning about the different plants , techniques of the work behind the goods produced, building community with one another , the wildlife & the importance of respect in the culture of farming. Victor really took the time to explain his learning & was so helpful in answering any questions. It was so much fun with a lot of interactive moments throughout the tour , we have spent a month in Thailand doing various things and visiting here has to be in the top 3 of our highlights of the trip . I highly recommend everyone to book the old Phuket farm tour you will not be disappointed. We left with a smile on our faces , more educated and overall a heart full of happiness :)
It was really interesting to see what the life for the local people was like in the past. You get alot explained and can even try it yourself (like planting rice). They also have a restaurant where you can eat or drink something (get 10% discount with a ticket). And you get a free drink at the souvenier shop when you show your ticket. Overall a very nice experience and I would recommend it to eceryone who wants to know abit about how the local people were living in the past.

Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
