Art Room Phuket
Tucked along Yaowarad Road in the heart of Phuket Town, this intimate art space doubles as both a gallery and a working art school, offering visitors a genuine glimpse into the local creative scene. The gallery is primarily focused on abstract painting, with works by resident artist Khun Oh and other local painters displayed throughout the space. Visitors consistently note the welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere and the quality of the artwork on show, making it a worthwhile stop for anyone with an interest in contemporary Thai art. Those looking to do more than browse can also take part in painting lessons, with visitors praising the teacher's knowledge and the accessible price point for classes. The shop carries original works at fair prices, making it a reasonable option for those seeking an authentic, locally made piece of art rather than a mass-produced souvenir. As a small, independently run space, opening hours may vary, so it is worth contacting the venue in advance or dropping by during standard daytime hours to avoid a wasted trip. Art Room Phuket suits travellers who enjoy wandering Phuket Town's heritage streets and want to combine sightseeing with a more personal cultural experience away from the busier tourist attractions on the island.

Visitor Reviews
Incredible art school in downtown Phuket town. The prices are acceptable and the teacher knows about painting. The exhibition inside the school is interesting, most of the paintings are abstract art, but painted with a good technique. The place invites you to enjoy local art. I recommend visiting this art school if you are in the old town. Enjoy Phuket! Enjoy Thailand!
Small shop, local artist(s), fair prices, definitely would recommend to have a look.
Khun Oh's art can change the dynamic of a room.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
