Royal Palace Hotel - Pattaya

4.0(965 reviews)

Set in the heart of Pattaya, this sizeable hotel occupies a prime position within easy walking distance of Walking Street, Beach Road, and Bali Hai Pier, making it a practical base for exploring the city. The property has a distinctive character, with marble floors and teak ceilings giving it an old-school Pattaya charm that sets it apart from newer, more generic options. A large outdoor pool, on-site restaurant, and rooms with balconies — some offering sea views — round out the key amenities. Guests consistently highlight the convenient location as a standout feature, with restaurants, convenience stores, and major attractions clustered close by. The hotel operates on a large scale, with a significant number of rooms spread across the property, meaning some guests may find the walk from reception to their room considerable. Housekeeping standards have drawn praise from many visitors, though a small number of reviews flag inconsistencies in room cleanliness, so it is worth inspecting the room carefully upon arrival and requesting a change if needed. The hotel operates with check-in available from midnight through to midday, which suits travellers arriving on overnight journeys. Booking directly through the hotel website may offer the most flexibility. Given its proximity to Pattaya's nightlife strip, guests sensitive to noise should consider requesting a higher floor or a room facing away from the street.

Visitor Reviews

It’s amazing original Phattaya hotel with beautiful mable floors and teak ceiling. Staffs and housekeeping service that turndown your room as 5 stars hotel. Location is perfect, big pool, family and kids friendly, great breakfast with espresso. The great value hotel in Phattaya area. 😊

This is a very good hotel mainly because of its location. Everything is close by. Whatever you need, it’s around the hotel... restaurants, 7/11 stores, Walking Street, Beach Road, Bali Hai Pier for Coral Island, Central Pattaya Mall, and more. The rooms are decent for the price, and the service and staff are good. Ignore the TV. no idea why it was even in the room.. as it was an old and very poor-quality one.

Stayed there for two days. My wife and myself had a comfortable stay there. Excellent premises. neat and comfortable room with a superb balcony. What I loved most was the pretty good collection of birds I could photograph from the lawn. Will love to revisit

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture

Dress Modestly

Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Mind Your Feet

Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.

Ask Before Photographing

Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
