Royal Living Koh Samui
Tucked along the Mae Nam coastline on Koh Samui's quieter northern shore, Royal Living Koh Samui is a beachfront property offering a mix of villas and modern apartments set within densely landscaped tropical gardens. The grounds open directly onto the beach, and a large, clean swimming pool sits at the heart of the property, surrounded by greenery so lush that visitors have likened it to a private jungle retreat with all the comforts of a well-maintained residence. Guests consistently highlight the quality of the hosting from owners Heinz and Khanita, describing them as attentive and genuinely welcoming. The accommodation options range from older-style villas to newer, more modern apartments, giving visitors some flexibility depending on their preference for character or contemporary comfort. The surrounding area is practical as well as peaceful, with a convenience store directly next door and local restaurants within easy walking distance. Royal Living Koh Samui suits travellers looking for a relaxed, residential-style stay away from the busier southern parts of the island. Mae Nam is one of Koh Samui's calmer beach areas, making it a particularly good fit for those prioritising tranquillity over nightlife. Visitor Reviews
We stayed at Royal Living Koh Samui over December and New Year’s, and it was absolutely amazing. Heinz and Khanita are exceptional hosts – warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely looked after. Their attention to detail and personal approach truly set this place apart. The villas are beautiful, spacious, and impeccably maintained, surrounded by a peaceful tropical garden and directly by the beach. Everything is calm, private, and perfectly designed for relaxation. New Year’s there was magical – quiet, elegant, and unforgettable. Service was outstanding throughout our stay, and the atmosphere felt more like a private retreat than a typical resort. A special mention for Malie Eatery across the street— an absolute must-visit and without a doubt some of the best Thai food on the island. Highly recommended – we would return without hesitation. A true gem on Koh Samui.
The most beautiful place to stay on the island. Their tranquil gardens and serene swimming pool offer a perfect retreat for relaxation. Their dedicated team is committed to providing exceptional service and ensuring every guest feels valued. They take great pride in our reputation and look forward to welcoming you.
Beautiful beach with a large, clean pool. The villas are old but the apartment here, where we stayed was newer and more modern.
Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
