Number 1 Gallery
Nestled on a quiet soi off Silom Road in Bangkok's Bang Rak district, Number 1 Gallery is an intimate independent art space that blends rotating contemporary art exhibitions with a relaxed cafe setting. The combination creates an atmosphere that stands apart from the city's more conventional coffee shops and commercial galleries, drawing visitors in with thoughtful curation, cool interiors, and an ambient soundtrack that ties the whole experience together. The gallery is compact by design, but visitors consistently note that the small scale works in its favour, keeping the focus squarely on the artwork and the mood of the space. Resident cats add a charm of their own, and the cafe element means there is no pressure to rush — guests are welcome to walk in, browse the current exhibition, and settle in with a drink. The quality of the experience does shift with each new exhibition, so what is on display at the time of a visit shapes the overall impression. Number 1 Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00, and closed on Mondays. Given that at least one visitor has reported arriving to find the gallery unexpectedly closed despite listed hours, it is worth checking the gallery's website at number1gallery.com or reaching out in advance before making a special trip. The location in Silom makes it a convenient add-on for those already exploring the neighbourhood.

Visitor Reviews
Very cute and lovely little indie art gallery. If I'm free, I'll definitely drop by to have a quick look. The overall experience unfortunately depends on who they're presenting at that point in time, and what's being hung on the walls. They don't squeeze too much of their artists' works in the space, and makes it just nice for an enjoyable experience. After you're done, sit by Hearth Art Cafe, for a quick coffee, before you go.
Interesting fusion between an art gallery and a coffee place. The interior style is very cool and the music and art combine into an ambiance that is different (in a good way) from the million other coffee places in Bangkok. Recommended to check this out!
Outstanding aethetics, good drinks, cute cats and interesting gallery. Guess you can simply walk in and look around. Staying in the place is itself an enjoyment.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture
Dress Modestly
Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.
Mind Your Feet
Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.
Ask Before Photographing
Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
