The View เชียงดาว
Sitting at the heart of Chiang Dao, this rooftop venue combines accommodation, dining, and a bar with sweeping 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and town. The elevated setting — accessible by elevator to the fourth floor, with one additional flight of stairs to the top — makes it a natural gathering point for travellers passing through the quieter reaches of Chiang Mai province between Chiang Mai city and Pai. Visitors can expect well-crafted cocktails, a solid food menu, and a calm, unhurried atmosphere without loud music or crowds. Prices are slightly higher than typical local eateries, though reviewers consistently note the views justify the premium. The hotel rooms are clean and air-conditioned, with breakfast served on the rooftop — a practical bonus for guests, though note there is no elevator access to the breakfast level. The overall vibe suits travellers looking for a relaxed stop rather than a lively night out. Good to know: Arriving before sunset is recommended to make the most of the rooftop views. The venue has a large parking lot, making it accessible for those travelling by scooter or car. Opening hours are not consistently listed online, so checking the Facebook page before visiting is advised, particularly during weekdays or the shoulder season.

Visitor Reviews
Great food, nice and peaceful atmosphere, nice views, friendly prices, the hotel is also very cool.
Good 360 rooftop bar with the mountain view, good prices and good food. Very quiet place without aggressively loud music and drinkers. 4th floor by elevator and 1 floor on feet up. Big parking lot and two lots to charge EV. Working hours 10am to 10pm but all people are coming by 6-7pm Worth to mention: we arrived from Laos side and the navigator was showing a non existent turn. If you're stuck in the same situation go further until you see the view sign on left side
Exquisite food, refined atmosphere, and impeccable service. Well-crafted cocktails, a diverse drinks selection, and elegant appetizers. The room is pristine and comfortable. Visit before sunset for a breathtaking 360-degree mountain panorama.
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
