Thi Baan Bistro
Thi Baan Bistro has earned a devoted following among both locals and visiting travellers for its carefully prepared Thai cooking at prices that won't strain a travel budget. Situated on Phet Kasem Road in central Hua Hin, the restaurant is easy to reach on foot or by tuk-tuk, making it a natural stop during a day exploring the town. The menu leans into Thai classics executed with evident care. Reviewers frequently single out the tom yum soup — praised for its balance of lemongrass, kaffir lime, and fresh prawns — alongside crisp spring rolls and well-seasoned garlic dishes. The owner's hands-on approach shows in the details: menus are clear and accessible, the space is kept clean, and food arrives quickly. Spice levels can be adjusted to preference, which makes the kitchen accommodating for a range of diners. A small number of visitors have noted inconsistency with certain dishes, so sticking to the more frequently praised items is a reasonable strategy. Open seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the bistro suits both lunch and dinner visits with no notable gap in service. Arriving during the early lunch window or mid-afternoon helps avoid the busier meal-time rush. No advance booking is typically required given the casual format, though checking the restaurant's Facebook page before visiting is worthwhile for any updated hours or closures.

Visitor Reviews
This is a truly fantastic Thai café where everything is thoughtfully executed. The tom yum soup is a masterpiece: vibrant, balanced, with a perfect blend of lemongrass, kaffir lime, and fresh prawns, leaving an unforgettable aftertaste. Overall, all the food here is top-notch — tender dishes with coconut milk, fresh salads, grilled items, and other Thai favorites, prepared from premium ingredients with soul. Service is outstanding: attentive, quick staff always with a smile. The owners are incredibly friendly, greeting you like old friends, sharing menu tips, and creating a cozy vibe. Stylish yet unpretentious interior with comfortable tables and pleasant lighting. Prime location — right next to Blueport shopping center in Hua Hin, easy to find, park, and pair with shopping for a delicious meal. Prices are reasonable, portions generous. In short, everything's great — come and enjoy!
I came here with high expectations and was still delighted. It might have been the best Thai food i’ve ever had! The spring rolls were spot on! (Re: photo - There were 6 pieces to start with.) Garlic chicken rice and Pad Sea Ew were both awesome! What a gem! The whole meal with 2 small beers and 2 white wines amounted to 660THB. We’ll be coming here again until we leave Hua Hin!
You can tell the owner takes great pride in her business. It really shows. Service is great, menus are very professional and easy to understand, place is clean, food is excellent and it's very affordable. I highly recommend this place.

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
