Sawasdee you - Art and Street food
Tucked along the busy stretch of Tha Phae Road, this evening street food venue blends casual Thai dining with a creative, gallery-like atmosphere. Artwork lines the space while cooks prepare dishes fresh to order, making it a spot that appeals to travellers looking for something with more character than a standard restaurant. The combination of art and street food reflects a side of contemporary Chiang Mai that sits comfortably between local culture and visitor-friendly accessibility. The menu is simple and affordable, with dishes like pad Thai, pad kra pao, and roti with banana among the offerings — all prepared fresh and served in generous portions. Prices are notably low even by Chiang Mai standards, and the staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and funky, with open seating that lets diners take in the artwork while their food is being cooked. Good to know: The venue opens at 6 PM every day of the week, making it a reliable option for evening plans. Be aware that wait times can vary — on busy nights, some visitors have experienced longer waits, so arriving closer to opening time around 6 to 7 PM is advisable if you prefer a more relaxed pace. Dress casually and come with a small appetite for exploration, as the menu lends itself well to ordering a couple of dishes across different styles.

Visitor Reviews
Decided to try this place today. Have passed many times but never tried usually end up at the night bazaar or around there. So glad I opted to try. The food was delicious. I actually had 2 dishes. Padthai and a fried rice. Well presented. Pipping hot and super tasty. Excellent prices as well. Cheaper actually than the night bazaar or food courts in the area and so much better quality and taste. I will most definitely be back.
A really cool place. I splurged by spending 165 baht at this place 😂 I ordered pad Thai shrimp with egg, roti with banana and egg and Thai iced tea All of them tastes amazing! Roti is crispy outside. Pas thai is flavorful! Will definitely come again
Nice little spot with delicious fresh food. The staff were really friendly, the portions were very filling and it's cheap. The food was prepared freshly on order and came quickly. Would definitely recommend this place.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
