Siam Yacht Club
Siam Yacht Club sits along Charoen Krung Road in Bangkok's historic Bang Rak district, positioned at the riverside within the Sheraton hotel with direct views over the Chao Phraya River. The venue draws a steady crowd for its combination of seafood dining and a lively bar atmosphere, with the river providing a backdrop of passing cruise boats, barges, and the lit skyline of the opposite bank as evening sets in. The kitchen leans into seafood as its centrepiece, complemented by touches of Thai cuisine, with visitor accounts pointing to attentive service and a kitchen that has drawn praise for its creative approach to dinner. The back bar section adds a social dimension to the venue, with live music on certain nights and bartenders who contribute to the atmosphere. Seating arrangements vary, and some tables offer better river views than others, so arriving early or requesting a riverside table is worth considering. Good to know: Siam Yacht Club opens at 5 PM every day of the week and stays open until 1 AM, making it well suited for dinner, post-dinner drinks, or a late-night outing. As it operates within the Sheraton hotel, the setting leans toward smart casual rather than purely relaxed. Checking the venue's website at sycbangkok.com ahead of visiting is advisable for reservation options and to confirm whether live music is scheduled on your chosen evening.

Visitor Reviews
Came on a Sunday evening. Delicious food, impeccable service with a unbeatable view by the Chao Praya River. I would like to praise the two managers on duty that night (21 Dec 25) for their attentiveness to even the smallest detail. Two of the dishes are slightly salty or tough and they immediately noticed it even though there isn’t alot of leftovers. Guess their standards and confidence in their chefs make them fully confident that everyone will leave with a full tummy and empty plates thus when there is even abit of leftovers, they knew something is wrong.
Amazing experience of fine daining witch Chef Natchayapong and lady Butcher that creates amazing duo dinner. Real meaty experience with hints of real Thai cuisine.
The Siam Yacht Club is situated by the river, with stunning views of the businesses (and hotels) across. There is so much to see, including the multitude of cruise boats and barges carrying on their daily business. It is in short, a fantastic location to dine. There is both inside and outside seating. The latter is disturbed by the complimentary hotel shuttle traffic that takes place every half hour. So it was a no brainer, to sit inside, still with an open arrangement and if you select well, you will be in the vicinity of the open kitchen. I came here to partake in their celebration of Maine Lobster dishes. Disappointingly, only three options. I chose the Butter Poached Maine Lobster (Salted Egg Yolk-Curry Powder Sauce Braised Celery /Spinach / Red Chili / Coriander). An exceptional dish. Lobster portion was small, poached perfect to come out tender and succulent. Also ordered the truffle mashed potatoes, more a puree, still excellently prepared with texture and flavor. This restaurant also has an enticing regular menu. However, there was an aspect of my dining experience here that was disturbing. It was about one bottled water that I ordered with my meal. I was charged for it. For one, plain water should be complimentary. Two, several of the same bottles are provided free of charge in the room. Three, in the big scheme of things, after ordering lobster, wine, and a side, the charge for a bottle of water is irrelevant. But it is the principle of the matter. I brought it up with the hostess, and she refused to budge or care. Why nickel and dime guests to taint an otherwise, pleasant evening?

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
