Route66

4.0(2,568 reviews)$$$$

Route66 is one of Bangkok's well-established nightclubs, drawing a predominantly young local crowd alongside visitors looking to experience the city's after-dark scene beyond the tourist-heavy areas. Set on Soi Soonvijai off Rama 9 Road, the venue has built a strong following through its distinctive layout and consistently energetic atmosphere. The club is divided into multiple rooms, each with its own bar and musical identity — expect dedicated spaces for EDM, K-pop, and a main stage area, making it easy to move between different sounds and vibes throughout the night. Live DJs, dancers, and impressive visual effects contribute to a high-energy environment, while mid-range drink prices keep the evening accessible. The mirrored interiors have become a talking point among visitors, adding to the club's visual appeal. Good to know: Entry is 300 baht, which typically includes a drink. The venue gets busy on weekends but reportedly draws solid crowds even on weeknights, so Thursday and Friday evenings are viable options for those wanting atmosphere without a peak Saturday crowd. The Rama 9 Road area is served by the MRT Rama 9 station, making it straightforward to reach from central Bangkok by public transport. Smart-casual dress is appropriate, and arriving after 10 PM generally aligns with when the venue hits its stride.

I was surprised at this place . Went on a Thursday to celebrate my birthday and it was busy with good looking young people. I stopped drinking for a while , so I was trying to find a way to have a good time at a club without getting drunk. Their outside area is a good time . It's a giant smoking section with white leather couches where you can listen to music, get drinks and chill. They had an edm room and a big hip-hop room , both play good music. Outside plays good music too. Sukhumvit area nightclubs are such a rip off with their 350 baht minium a drink, prices. I'm not sure if it's all of RCA but Route 66 had a more responsibile price of 200 baht per drink. Good spot 💯

This club was a really fun place to spend the night. There are several separate rooms, each with different types of music and its own bar, so you can easily move around and find the atmosphere you like the most. Every area felt lively and full of energy. The drinks were good and reasonably priced, which made the experience even better. The club was quite busy with many people and tables, creating a great party atmosphere. However, in my opinion, there was not quite enough space to dance comfortably. There were also professional dancing crews performing on the stage, and they danced really well, adding a lot of excitement to the night.

An amazing club popular with local young people, featuring top-tier music and impressive visual effects. Entrance fee: 300 baht.

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars

Carry Your Passport or a Copy

Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.

Know the Closing Times

Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.

Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously

Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
