Phuket Indy Night Market
Tucked near Phuket Old Town, this lively night market runs three evenings a week — Wednesday through Friday — and draws a mix of locals and travellers looking for an authentic alternative to the island's more tourist-heavy spots. The market sits alongside an indoor mall, giving the area a lively, well-organised feel without the chaos of larger markets. Food is the main draw, with affordable street dishes that keep visitors coming back. Pad Thai for around 40 baht has been a highlight for many, and the variety of local food stalls gives plenty of reason to graze. Beyond eating, the market offers live music performances and occasional fire shows that add to the atmosphere, making it as much an evening out as a shopping trip. Souvenirs and general goods round out the stall selection, though vendors lean more toward food than retail. Good to know: the market only operates on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 16:00 to 22:30, so planning around these days is essential. Crowds gather as the evening progresses, which can make the space feel compact — those who prefer a quieter experience may want to arrive closer to opening time. Beer and drinks can run on the pricier side compared to the food stalls, so it is worth budgeting accordingly. The Facebook page listed is the best place to check for any updates or schedule changes before visiting.

Visitor Reviews
Wow, what an incredible experience we had at this charming little market! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the cozy atmosphere and impeccable setup. The best part? There were clean tables and chairs, so we could sit back and relax as we indulged in all the mouth-watering Thai dishes. And let me tell you, we didn't leave hungry! From classic favourites to exciting new varieties, this market had something for everyone. And the live music? It was the perfect accompaniment to our delicious meal. Plus, the staff were all amiable and provided lightning-fast service. The best part? The prices were reasonable, so we could enjoy all our favourite dishes without breaking the bank. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention our absolute favourite: the fresh orange juice from local mandarins. It was the perfect finishing touch to an already fantastic evening. We can't wait to go back!
We had a lovely time me, maybe me more so than my boyfriend! (He dislikes crowds) We managed to get pad Thai for 40bht and we went back twice for it - it was banging and reasonable priced. There are also a few vegan and vegetarian options - just ask for no fish sauce. Highly recommend bringing cash - the live acts were great especially a band we saw last night. The only bad thing is that they can sometimes play cheesy English music! (I am English - I can say this hahaha) however they played Creep by Radiohead which I loved! Plus there are no toilets however you can find some in the shopping mall nearby!
Near Old Town Phuket, definitely worth visiting (Wed-Fri). Some of the best local food, many delicious options, wonderful live music, really an amazing break from the touristy part of phuket & perfect for experiencing some Thai culture!!

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping
Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
