Pai Night Market
Running every evening from 6 PM to 10 PM, this walking street market sits at the centre of Pai's social life, drawing a mixed crowd of locals, Thai visitors, and international travellers looking to experience the town's distinctive bohemian character. The market stretches along the main road and fills quickly with vendors selling handmade jewellery, clothing, artwork, and souvenirs alongside a wide range of street food stalls. Food is a genuine highlight here. Visitors consistently single out dishes like black sticky rice, pork sausage, pork belly, and sticky rice pancakes, and the stall variety spans Thai, Vietnamese, and Western options, with choices for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. Standout snacks like garlic cheese bread with honey have developed their own following among repeat visitors. Prices across the market are generally affordable, making it easy to graze widely without much concern for the bill. It is worth noting that Pai as a whole attracts a significant number of foreign visitors, and the market reflects this — the atmosphere leans more international than strictly traditional, which some travellers embrace and others find less authentic than expected. Arriving closer to opening time around 6 PM to 6:30 PM gives the best pick of food before popular items sell out. Most vendors are cash only, so come prepared, and wear comfortable shoes for browsing on foot.

Visitor Reviews
Must visit for the night market culture and good food when in Pai! Many stalls available, from food to beverages to souvenirs. All at affordable price. Try the black sticky rice, its a nice, aromatic and chewy snack. Quench your thirst with the many fresh juices available. There's a small stall near some food trucks where a friendly lady owner sells ginger tea. Grab a hot 1 during a cold evening could warm your tummy up immediately. During my time of visit, there were a group of kids doing a cultural performance. Don't forget to donate/tip! A lil kindness goes a long way.
I love this night market with lots of delicious street food, and this garlic cheese bread, topped with extra cheese, honey and other ingredients, are far my favourite and the best street food I've ever had in Pai! The owner is friendly and wonderful, and sadly his stall is only located in Pai. Would be better if he opened another stall in Chiang Mai, otherwise I would definitely come back to Pai, just for his delicious garlic cheese bread!
The vivid night walking street market is the unique point in Pai. It opens everyday from 17:00 till late. Every cuisine from western food, thai & vietnamese can be found here both non-vegetarian and vegan. There is a small river at the end of the walking street where visitors can enjoy the chilling vibe & breeze of Pai.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
